What are perks and other benefits like at Cambridge Educational Services?

Pros

- Loved the people; thankful for the generosity of the CEO - Great learning experience in sales and customer service - Able to work how I wish on tasks I wanted to do (within reason) - Opportunities to travel across the country on business - The dedication of the staff is inspiring - Flexibility of hours and casual atmosphere - Free food, cruises, and other like benefits

Cons

- Did not personally enjoy the work; found it very mundane (eg cold calls and data entry) - Would have liked a clearer job description (felt like the position was made after I applied. Tailoring this to fit my strengths could be seen as a pro in a certain aspect) - Lack of tasks to do over time and lack of middle management - Was unable to do some tasks because so many required significant training from already overworked employees (no time to be shown these tasks) - Inability for the CEO to make consistent and rational decisions (both over time and between employees) - Inability for the CEO to take 'no' for an answer; felt pressured to stay at the company longer than intended - Casual atmosphere could border on unprofessional to some - Unclear procedures and last minute projects assigned the day they were due

Advice to Management

I am grateful for the Cambridge experience, but I think a more consistent and respectful executive decision making process could make this a great company. Perhaps this means instituting stronger middle management or clearer procedures.

- Free food, cruises, and other like benefits

What kind of career opportunities exist at Cambridge Educational Services?

Pros

I met some great friends and coworkers

Cons

Cambridge Educational Services is the worst place I hope that I ever work. As a brand-new college graduate, I thought the offer I received was a good opportunity at the time that turned into a horrifying nightmare for the short time that I worked there. The CEO not only has unrealistic expectations from new employees, he will very often scream and belittle them to their faces to the point of tears. Not only is the CEO terrible, but the other executives at the company are too spineless to stand up to him in support of the helpless admins. I could say more, but I really just wanted to echo the warnings on this page. PLEASE take these negative reviews SERIOUSLY. Worst mistake I ever made and I am haunted with the memories of the CEO to this day years later.

How are senior leaders perceived at Cambridge Educational Services?

Pros

Small company so you get lots of responsibility and unique opportunities that will help you grow. Learned a great deal about sales, customer support, and presenting.

Cons

Working with the CEO is extremely difficult. He may display bi-polar bouts. One minute he is praising you for your work and the next he is yelling at you or telling you to look for another job. It takes a real tough skin to work here, so I would not recommend it for most people. High turnover.

Working with the CEO is extremely difficult.
