What are perks and other benefits like at Ciber?

Pros

Below the senior leadership level, there are lots of great people who care and work hard to make a difference in spite of senior leadership.

Cons

Too many to list. The company operates like it is 1978. No modern strategy, no modern benefits, and treats employees like they are indentured. Stay away.

Advice to Management

Get a strategy and INVEST in achieving it. That means talent, modern infrastructure, and marketing that is specifically geared to the markets you are trying to penetrate. Look at what your competitors are doing, benchmark on them, and invest in doing it better. You can sometimes cut your way to short-term profitability, but you cannot cut your way to achieving growth targets. That requires vision, investment, and alignment of resources. Customers are savvy, and competition is fierce in the IT services game. If you aren't prepared to show up with a strategy and support for winning it beyond "everybody work harder", don't expect results.

Does Ciber offer unlimited time off?

Pros

Pay is decent, a little flexibility with regard to work schedule and vacation time.

Cons

Insurance is not great. The new management and leads are very biased. They have favorites and micromanage everyone else. Favorites take 2 hour lunches while everyone else is micromanaged, even when doing a great job Also, management does not have your back at all. If you make a complaint they will advise that they will check into things but will not really. If someone says something about you though and you have proof it isn't true, they will pretend it is and will not check or investigate anything. Lastly, many of the new leads are not qualified to be leads, they were friends of the new management before and he brought them up when he was promoted. They have not been trained and don't speak to workers with much respect and do not assist when needed. This new environment makes everyone uncomfortable, but does not make anyone more productive. There is now an us vs them environment in place with regard to management and workers. Many of the new leads need training. They don't know that speaking to people with respect goes a long way. They think being in management means just bossing people around but they are not very supportive. This company used to be a great place to work but until they clean up the erragance and micromanagment amongst management it will be a shell of it's former self for anyone wishing to work here.

Advice to Management

Management training is necessary. There should also be a box so that people can anonomously discuss concerns. Many have concerns and are trying to find new jobs because it's not comfortable to work their anymore, at least for some. Many people don't feel comfortable making complaints on the manager's friends that are leads, because they are afraid of retribution. We have seen people get called out for things but only after they made complaints. The lead was not brought in to discuss the issue, management always sides with the lead. If nothing else the complaint should be discussed so that the issue can be resolved instead everyone from management to HR acts as though you are the issue. This bigger issues in the company and workers do not feel valued or heard. This is not right and opens the door for an us vs them environment. If workers don't have any support they have no one to turn to. There are some good leads but there are plenty of new faces that are erragant and while amazing on calls and meetings, they are horrible support for the build. Many of their main objective s is that they look good but they don't help when asked. If you place an anonomous box at all the buildings, then I am sure you will receive comments on this issue. Problems can be corrected but not if you are not willing to see things from the prospective of the workers. Management training is a must shou with their team. I have several members of HR and management in my family that are at Ford and they to have heard of changes. I believe if people can't feel heard speaking to Ciber HR then they will end up going to the customer directly.ss has changed when the new management was brought in. I have fellow coworkers that were also having a hard time. The environment is such that everyone screenshots everything because speficic individual s get away with broad issues and others feel picked on. Some deserve it some do not. The new environment is toxic and needs to be dealt with internally.
