Does Cornerstone Healthcare Group offer tuition reimbursement?

Pros

To be honest there is nothing positive that I can add

Cons

Make no mistake in reading this! Cornerstone Healthcare Group, (CHG) is TOXIC and has SHADY corporate management at all levels that cannot be trusted. Too many of the individuals in management positions (I use the term management because there are no leaders in this organization) don't have degrees, experience or the know-how for the titles which were given. This is evident in how the corporate office is run. Just look at low employee engagement scores, huge workloads and the high turnover throughout the corporate office and the entire company. It is also very strange that the corporate office is dictated by the field. How any corporate facility would allow the filed to manage what goes on at the corporate level is shocking. Last I checked, the corporate office is supposed to implement policies for the field to follow, not the other way around. Nothing is consistent here. What's said on Monday is forgotten, ignored or denied on Tuesday. Communication is also missing and the right hand has no clue what the left hand is doing. Most of the staff is significantly overworked because they wearing multiple hats. Adding more work to your plate is considered growth. Then you are looked at funny when things don’t get done on time. Many minority employees are targeted and set up to fail with false write ups or poor evaluations so they can be denied a raise, forced out or made to quit (without being paid unemployment) simply because they don’t fit "the new face/look of the company". The halls of this office are filled with deception. The company stopped matching 401k and didn't not tell a single person for months. They didn't even tell the HR staff. It was not addressed until employees started looking at the monthly statements and complaining. The company is inconsistent with PTO, tuition reimbursement and bonuses. As an employee you have to fight for everything you want and need while management line their pockets with huge bonuses each month. If you like 20 cent annual raises, office gossip, foul language, being thrown under the bus, unhappy coworkers, discrimination, deception, no support, lack of growth, fighting for what is rightfully yours and working for incompetent managers then this is the place for you. CHG lacks culture and has no values.

Does Cornerstone Healthcare Group offer an employee assistance or workplace counselling program?

Pros

Lots of autonomy. Easy to speak with management about needs, you can make your own schedule and the pay is average to slightly above the three local hospitals "ladder" style of wages they pay clinical staff.

Cons

Lack of team work, very little nursing support on the floor, skelton staffing style, paper charting. Unfortunately, corporate doesn't care for the progression or positive trends / changes in healthcare which benefit employee satisfaction. Poor retention rates speak for themselves.

Advice to Management

Consider restructuring aides duties to more than just vitals. The nurses are alone on the floor and could seriously benefit from adequate (better) staffing. On MS; 6:1 -7:1 ratio with the high acuity combined with paper charting is a deal breaker for many good nurses.

Unfortunately, corporate doesn't care for the progression or positive trends / changes in healthcare which benefit employee satisfaction.

What is the retirement plan like at Cornerstone Healthcare Group?

Pros

With the recent release and addition of certain Senior Leadership members Cornerstone has a strong senior team now able to execute more quickly on strategy. Pay is competitive. Company direction is optimistic. Turnover greatly reduced.

Cons

Benefits need more work. Premiums are high, tuition reimbursement needs review, and no 401k is an oversight. Need to invest in right size staffing for maximum profitability. It will be challenging at first as part of ramping up but pay off long term as Cornerstone gains credibility in the markets.

Advice to Management

Build on strengths and exit weaknesses quickly. Stop holding on to dead weight. You take too long to make the right decisions and morale drops when you do not.

Premiums are high, tuition reimbursement needs review, and no 401k is an oversight.
