Does Covance offer relocation assistance?

Pros

- Great support system and team - Wonderful coworkers - Provided a mentor when you get started, and you actually meet and talk to them often. - Great benefits - the PM Academy - being apart of this team as a Project Coordinator opens up a bright future for you with endless possibilities. - Work life balance (both pro& con) - right now it is great because the PC 1 is an hourly position, but I know as a PC 2 & up it goes to salary and people do work longer hours.

Cons

- No relocation benefit/ pay provided - I think the pay could be more competitive. No negotiation / counter when you are provided the job offer - Better instructions on how to get started on your first day and log in to your computer. Like a booklet mailed to you to walk you through the steps and your first days. -IT issues are not typically quick to be resolved. On my first day, I couldn't get into my computer. They didn't resolve this until Day 2/3. One ticket I had open for over a month before someone reached out to me.

Advice to Management

As we are coming up to 1-year since COVID-19 infections were first found in the US - I think a decision should be made soon about whether or not we will be going back into the office. Overall my first 90 days here have been wonderful, and the support system I have here is unlike any other. My team have actually listened to me when I have ideas or if I am experiencing issues, so that we can come to a resolution. I have not experienced this at previous jobs. I also appreciate the amount of communications that come out from leadership, it shows they care about their employees, something I also have not experienced at previous jobs. This industry is huge, and there are a lot of moving pieces. I think there is improvement to be made during the onboarding and training sessions. Especially when you are coming into this job with no previous CRO/Pharma experience. It would be very, very beneficial to have live meetings talking about the overall industry and all the different departments. Too much of it is online and self-paced training, that gets looked over. I think there should be more meetings and live calls to review some items, especially going through benefits and making elections. As for the job specific tasks, there is room for improvement in the job aids. More specific job-aids that actually walk through the steps would be very beneficial. I have found that it takes longer than it should to find the information you need about a task given the amount of resources available. Ex; MS Project Schedule training would be vital.

Does Covance offer family leave?

Pros

They try to show care and concern for their employees. FTO = discretionary leave

Cons

As with all CROs, there is a disconnect with resourcing. Everyone's salary is all over the place.

Advice to Management

Days on Site is not the only metric that should be considered for CRAs as they are given a LOT of site management work that they are not credited for! Resourcing needs to be revamped.
