How are career development opportunities at Covance?

Pros

The pay is competitive, the company itself feels very relaxed which is a great working environment, I feel free to express myself and my identity (while obviously keeping things work appropriate), there is a lot of opportunity to move up, it seems the entire 3+ years I have been with the company it has been growing and more and more opportunities keep opening up.

Cons

Sometimes things change very drastically at the last minute and adaptability is key.

What kind of career opportunities exist at Covance?

The promotional salary could be better, however yearly salary adjustments may improve it

Does Covance have any sort of mentoring program?

Pros

Training is thorough and there's a help video for almost every process or piece of software, which is great for reiterating learning or reminding yourself on processes that you may not use all the time. The mentoring programme has made a very positive impact as a new starter in the team, I feel as though I have constant support, someone to ask my million and one questions to and also someone who has the time to have a catch up / friendly chat.

Cons

There's not much interaction between the trainees (and it's not promoted by the trainers / management) so it's harder to build relationships with the other new starters when you are a remote worker.

Advice to Management

Promote more inter-departmental interactions to increase our network across Covance.
