What is paid time off like at Crispin Porter?
Pros
- Relaxed office atmosphere, can bring dogs to work, free snacks - Fun events - Pay and benefits are ok - A lot of great people work here... until they find something better
Cons
- Lack of direction from leadership. All show and now substance. It seemed like every 6 months we had a town hall about how we were going to implement a bold new way of doings things, but nothing changed. - Culture of bullying, nepotism and the Peter Principle. People have certainly risen to the level of their incompetence, and often with the help of of friends. - "Unlimited Vacation" policy was either a thinly-veiled way of not having to pay accrued PTO when large layoffs were coming, or is a really tone-deaf attempt to try and be progressive. The feeling that if you took too much vacation you were more likely to be in the next round of layoffs was prevalent. - Very cliquey. Hard to feel included if you're not a creative. Constant streams of self-congratulatory all staff emails for creative accomplishments and promotions, very little acknowledgement of administrative staff.
Advice to Management
Put your money where your mouth is. True managers are there to support their employees, not to see how much work they can squeeze out of them before they burn out.
