What is paid time off like at Crown Castle?

Pros

From the beginning of Covid, we have been working from home and will continue to do so at least through the end of the year. We were given an additional 40-hours of PTO to use on anything Covid related and the leadership team sent out a survey to get a pulse on struggles/benefits of working from home.

Cons

I honestly can't think of anything. Grateful to work for such a caring company during a time like this.

Advice to Management

Keep open lines of communication open and keep listening and responding to your employees.

Does Crown Castle offer relocation assistance?

Pros

Generous benefits package, great healthcare, with lucrative RSU program.

Cons

Completely visionless leadership driven by unqualified and out of touch EMT and SLT. Priorities are constantly shifting and decisions are made poorly based on politics and egos. SLT reorgs every 2 years, with the same favored- yet incompetent- VPs and Directors and somehow expects different results. (2016, 2018, 2020 and 2022) Digital Transformation is failing. Operational improvements are never fully thought through or executed on because no one really wants to change how they do business and senior leadership cannot make rational decisions or prioritize. Senior leaders are rarely held accountable for their inadequacies. There are some exceptionally poisonous VPs in key improvement roles who are ruining the culture and progress for entire teams. Crown Castle is not a happy work place and morale has been steadily declining for years. Crown has become so toxic and unsatisfying to work at that tenured employees are leaving in droves, leaving behind the golden handcuffs in unvested RSU stocks and bonuses. It's not worth staying in such toxic environment to feel undervalued as a human and made ineffective because VP leadership just spins in circles and has for years.

Advice to Management

Admit failures and own up to the deteriorating culture instead of pretending these issues don't exist. Crown is losing top talent because senior leadership is horrendous - no other reason. They aren't leaders. Maybe it's time to shake up the EMT a bit. EMT are no longer trusted leaders across the vast majority of employees. Morale and progress have steadily declined under their leadership for 6+ years. Untrusted leaders do not produce impactful and happy teams. Crown has become a hollow and unfulfilling work environment driven by egos and greed. And please - stop posting the embarrassing one-liner Pro/Con reviews here on Glassdoor to boost your rating. Potential candidates see right through that shallowness, it's insulting.

Generous benefits package, great healthcare, with lucrative RSU program.

Does Crown Castle offer massages?

Pros

If time travels backwards then the company gets better every day. There is also filtered water and free coffee

Cons

weak pay, lack of direction/purpose, too many reorganizations, not promoting from within, lack of EMT diversity.

Advice to Management

a typical day at work - Read company literature detailing the bureaucratic stalemate. Attend meetings echoing that the current business model needs to change. Reach my quota for the day/take care of urgent matters what you learned - Your biggest pay raise is on the day you get hired. If you want a raise - work somewhere else and come back in 5 years if they let you. management - They must really enjoy those hefty compensation packages, because they keep cutting away basic fringe benefits that made this job bearable in the past/ interesting enough to apply for. workplace culture - family members are a great way to secure a role in the company. The Individual Contributors live up to the B3 values and the management never reflects on their actions. There are many company conversations where the EMT will dance around/ignore questions about fair pay and vanishing benefits the hardest part of the job - Just like the movie "Office Space" every day gets worse. The CEO's got rid of the employee stock purchase program, and slowly eroded away the remaining benefits of the working class. the most enjoyable part of the job - The "All Hands" events the company NO LONGER HOLDS. This is when everyone would get together at a swanky resort for a week a get to see what our CEO's live like every day

There is also filtered water and free coffee

Does Crown Castle offer family leave?

Pros

Stable company with good benefits and fair compensation. Very focused on obtaining new business, the customer, and leading the telecommunications industry

Cons

There are not any experience-based promotions in the company. All promotions or new job titles must be interviewed for, so if you take a job here, you could be in that role for years without any elevation in title or pay, despite your effort. You will also need to be prepared to have your role virtually shifted across time zones and work hours increased to meet customer needs and not be compensated. If you leave the company your benefits will end on your last day, not through the end of the month and you will have to pay back any tuition reimbursements as they will not pro rate or forgive. If you're looking for an opportunity to grow - look elsewhere

Stable company with good benefits and fair compensation.
