What is paid time off like at Dassault Systemes?

Pros

Benefits: Paid time off, health insurance, etc. The ability to work remotely if you live more than X amount of miles from an office.

Cons

I don't feel safe. I need the paycheck. The company is actually okay, I just don't feel secure in the "no retaliaton" promise. As a queer person, I don't feel like my team realizes the things they say hurt me... I often feel gaslit by my supervisor and I don't feel like I can go to HR because she will paint it as a "they said she said" situation. I will copy and paste emails or conversations and say "You said this..." and get an "I am not reading what I said, you did the exact opposite of what I asked for..." I have never felt so dumb as I have while working here... And its not the customers that make you feel that way. I have had to completely dumb down my communication style and even then I don't feel like I am communicating effectively anymore... I thought I knew how to do my job... but each day I am surprised by how stupid. I often have to clearly state that I am not working late because I am going to the doctor or running errands... But I will still get a "strongly worded" text wondering how long it will take me to get home to log in to look at an email... There is NO respect for work/life boundaries

Advice to Management

Don't put people with no managerial experience in charge of a team, don't put someone with no experience in the department they are managing in charge of a team. I really wish they would just absorb my team into another team already

Benefits: Paid time off, health insurance, etc.

Does Dassault Systemes offer dental insurance?

Pros

Sharing review for Medidata brand working in 3DS India. This review is cumulative feedbacks of colleagues in same and different teams in Pune and Bangalore. 3DS India policies are not employee friendly. You will get less inhand salary. There is a variable component involved and will vary based on your career grade. Medical benefits are average, coverage is less as compared to other IT companies. On offer letter although you see high leave count there is segregation of leaves, policies are imposed on clubbing different types of leaves. Despite being product company you will have to serve long notice period. Also, the salary cycle is odd which is in between of the month. But salary gets credited only at the end of the month not immediately when cycle ends. Many employees are fooled by this thing. Moreover, quarterly variable is credited two months later and you don't get any notification. Neither salary slip has specific mention about variable pay. 3DS India treats its employees as per mechanical industry. Don't expect policies like normal IT company. Work culture is not good. You are required to mark your attendance every day and complete 9 hours. There is no work from home. You are required to work beyond normal working hours. Almost everybody in India starts work in morning and still continues to work late night, even mid night! For some of the teams it is really hard time working late night due to timezone difference. You have to also attend all trainings, coordinate with counter parts and get work done anyhow. Now as the company has started work from office some are finding it difficult to attend the meetings. You are also not given option to work in shifts. Forcefully you have to start in morning and also need to work in night. People have lost their work life balance, indeed it was not there from the beginning. Some people predicted things will settle down after sometime, but there is no change even after several months. You will see few people working even on weekends. Coming to working part there is no guarantee that you will get proper work. Although you will be entitled Research and Development Engineer/Tester there is not at all R&D work. You will be doing same work as in any other normal IT company. Be flexible enough to work on any technology and legacy products. Most of the teams are doing patch work, bug fixing. Mgmt and HR will convince you that they have best world class products, technologies and create fake picture. After joining some employees didn't get any benefits/bonus and later came to know project reality is different. For one of the teams people were hired with tech stack A but upon joining were asked to work on tech stack B. They had to shift their core technology as there was no choice. QA work is also not clearly defined. There is no single test strategy, framework. Differs project to project, have to work on any framework and Mac for no reason. Bangalore team is given less weightage and attention. Project Managers themselves don't know various technologies used and don't have work experience on it. Some people joining will find their project is different and reporting mngr, hierarchy is different. This is also done for some cases teams remain ineligible to provide great place to work feedback for immediate manager as team size is small. Fake promises were made to some people and one of the HRs even left. Don't get fooled by all fake pictures created. As the 3DS India is expanding Medidata brand in India they are hiring rapidly. Beware of this situation. Chances are high that you will get any project and have to work on any technology. Mgmt and HR will not communicate properly. It has also impacted work of internal employees. Across brand many of interview panel members have to invest extra efforts and stretch their work. Have to conduct interviews frequently on weekdays and weekends. There is no compensation paid nor any off time credited. If you refer anyone there is no proper information available. You can't find relevant open positions and will not get referral status. As teams are growing in size it is becoming difficult for mgmt to handle teams. Sometimes you will be micromanaged, face difficulty to apply leaves, might affect appraisals as well. Some managers made smart move under the name of delegation to unload themselves. They have put some of their responsibilities and load on some of senior members in the team. Although not designated on paper, unofficially they have to bear this extra load along with daily work. Now the appraisals have approached such things are not considered as a part of role. Increments are nowhere within expected range. Also, the variable pays are not yet paid, delayed by more than a quarter. You will not be seen how you are performing, skills and expertise you have. They will judge you based on family background, how many dependencies you have. This thing is already figured out by HR in their HR connects. You will be told Covid situation is worsening, haven't met target this year and on the other hand they are expanding. How contradictory! Now the most important and interesting part - the Covid situation in 3DS India. 3DS India is one of the first companies to start work from office. They initially started calling employees from December 2020. Started program to bring back employees and paid for all commute, hotel stay, Covid19 tests. As the employees started coming to office cases started increasing. Hardly any care is taken at campus, casual approach among employees. There are a lot of positive cases and now rising. Still company has not called off work from office despite government authorities encouraging work from home. These days company is not sharing the count and hiding overall covid situation in campus. There have been some really interesting cases. Mgmt is not sharing travel plan within team. Team members are completely in dark when people are coming back. There is no proper plan and no proper care taken. Few managers called their employees to office but they themselves never came and remained to work from home. One employee was found positive and had come to office. HR didn't even bothered to contact all team members who came in contact with that employee. Only one or two were contacted. After 2-3 days other team members got to know this internally. In one case one of the senior managers who have been associated with the company for more than a decade came to know positive case near by his place more than a month! This doesn't stop here. As IT support people, housekeeping staff have their daily work they have to go to all desks. Neither mgmt nor HR inform them about positives. Aren't they humans? How disgusting and shameful! After experiencing such situations some employees were frustrated and went back to hometown immediately within a few weeks from the the date of arrival. Although company paid their cost to come they went back by their own. Not only company is putting employees at risk but also risking life of people around campus. Overall most people in Medidata brand working in 3DS India are unhappy, dissatisfied and lost work life balance. Final verdict - think and decide carefully before you join 3DS India Medidata brand. Despite being big brand name ground reality is different. Don't risk your professional as well as personal life just for a few pennies. Medidata India culture is very different than 3DS India. Please don't take this review for Medidata US. Medidata US has really good work culture and policies. People out there are cool and helpful.

Cons

No proper work, no work life balance, no proper benefits and perks.

Advice to Management

Don't play with employees career and personal life. Officially introduce work from home policy. Ground reality is different. Don't just increase employee count. Improve your foreseeable vision.

Medical benefits are average, coverage is less as compared to other IT companies.
