What are meetings like at Dialog Information Technology?

Pros

Nothing to share for pros actually

Cons

1. Lack of transparency - management is NOT fair to employees and this organisation culture cascades down to all levels 2. Poor work culture, no focus on quality of delivery, rather management inspires to take all short-cuts to get things done 3. People are more into whole day meetings without any outcome and try to show their presence rather getting the work done efficiently or with quality 4. Horrible work-life balance - forced to work till midnight or over subsequent weekends with no choice. Further, employees are forced to take comp-off for the extra hours as per management choice. What is it like working with clients or customers at Dialog Information Technology?

Pros

They have somehow managed to get some interesting clients.

Cons

- Uncompetitive pay - Old way of thinking - exploit staff purely as assets - Minimal process or in-house IP - Arrogant management - entire business, from reception to account managers, is all about lining the owners pockets. Utterly misplaced loyalty.

Advice to Management

Sell the business and let more energetic forward thinking people run the place.

How is the office food at Dialog Information Technology?

Pros

Free drinks in the office on Friday afternoon. There's usually only 5 people floating about, so its not necessarily a social atmosphere.

Cons

- The top level of management constitutes 1 or 2 key people who control the hiring, the work assignment, the methodologies or approaches used, and the review of one's work. - The methodologies, work practices, and management style comes out from the IT industry of the 90s. It is political, underhanded and manipulative. - Consultants are not treated respectfully as professional resources but rather as slaves, and regarded as ignorant. Consultants are put through a gruelling phase of jumping through hoops to prove themselves as being worthy to stay. - The top level managers apply quality standards that are influenced by their personal agenda - not necessarily the clients' requirements. Their mechanisms have been known to burn out consultants - or used to assess the consultant's strengths and weaknesses - and then operate against those individuals. - Consultants are assessed by personal judgement as opposed to what skills they possess. - The top level managers are not respectful or loyal to staff. They have little empathy and think of consultants as machines.

Advice to Management

Be loyal and respectful to consultants. They have chosen to bring their IT professional skills to work with you. Regard them with respect and professionalism and you will have a far more successful office. Stop controlling and influencing everything - listen to your consultants who know the clients more directly.

What kind of work are employees expected to do at Dialog Information Technology?

Pros

Some of the assignments are quite good and you get to work on an interesting project but you are a body shop.

Cons

Inbetween assignments you sit on the bench waiting for something to come up. Tasks on the bench are often menial but you are expected to be there at the drop of a hat to go to a client site - which never happens without notice anyway. Couldn't wait to leave. This was the worst place I have ever worked at and a dark period in my working life. I wish I could remove it from my CV but would then have to explain the missing gap.
