As a remote company, they go out of their way to make sure people feel part of the culture and provide a number of excellent benefits, as well as helping work/life balance by having multiple company-wide days off in addition to any national holidays.
Cons

What is health insurance like at DigitalOcean?
Pros
Their benefits are massive. Competitive pay, fully paid health insurance, unlimited PTO, monthly stipends and more...and the company work culture is amazing!! When they say love is at their core, they truly mean it. The benefit package and encouragement they offer for remote work is one of a kind. There is ZERO micromanagement & hierarchies here. Everyone respects each other and there is plenty diversity. You will only experience genuine kindness and people who show up to do their jobs. I am so happy I found this company and am part of the team.
Cons
I cannot think of any negatives to working here!!

Does DigitalOcean offer tuition reimbursement?
Pros
* Great pay and benefits, especially for those lucky enough have access to pre-IPO shares. * If you like writing go, this is the place for you. * Coworkers are all friendly, good people. * Management makes genuine efforts to continually improve. * Things overall tend to get better over time. * Super remote-friendly.
Cons
* Hard to feel motivated when opportunities to implement mildly interesting features are de-prioritized quarter-by-quarter in favor of admittedly more important and impactful initiatives. * Management pays lip service to work/life balance, but that's all it is. Be willing to sacrifice the life end of that spectrum and you will promote fast and get to work on interesting projects. * The team I am on has been understaffed for about two years now. The products we develop and support have too many users so we find ourselves thrashing endlessly between support, bug fixes, and feature development. * Nearly 100% of the company is full-time remote. I've been working here three years. The team I have been on that whole time has never had an offsite. Yes, blah blah blah pandemic. The entire team is vaccinated. In theory, we could conduct a team vote to see if everyone is comfortable with meeting in person. But the company isn't allowing it, primarily for cost-savings.

Does DigitalOcean offer unlimited time off?
Pros
Teams are very supportive of one another. Management encourages individual growth and goals, whether it's on your own team or to further your own career. Everyone seems to be willing to help each other out in order to solve problems and I've never been afraid to ask others for help on things where I did not know enough on my own. On my team and across some of the teams that I have personally worked with, I have felt a lot of love and support. The benefits are also pretty great. You get a lot of time off depending on what country you're working out of, hours are flexible depending on the team that you're on, the stipends are nice and helpful, the insurance is pretty good, and paternal leave is very generous. The company really does take care of their staff. Managers that I have worked with will take the time to listen to you and offer you help when you need it. They encourage you to take the time to learn new skills and really develop where you are. It's the kind of place where you would want to stay for your entire career.
Cons
It's a relatively small company that's growing pretty quickly. It's easy to see the areas where the company is being stretched a bit thin and trying to make things work. Sometimes it takes some time to get things rolling, but once it does, people seem keen on seeing things through to the end. A lot of teams like to overcomplicate their processes which doesn't allow for a lot of transparency, but it seems that this is something that the company is attempting to fix.
Advice to Management
Keep being supportive of growth!
