What is the company culture at Docler Media?

Pros

Work as a team atmosphere. Internal politics between humans trying to elevate themselves often at the expense of others is often a trying mechanism to manage. The engineering team managers did a FANTASTIC job of this by directing the team members to understand that....we are to work as a team.

Cons

One engineer with a bad personality can poison the workplace.

Advice to Management

Code test are great but in the end it will be personality test that help determine if a person will be a great fit, hard worker, and good team mate.

What is the salary like at Docler Media?

Pros

Competitive salary, Beautiful creative space

Cons

Continuous payroll issues, lack of any sort of career development, entire teams were laid off just as fast as they were assembled, severance check issued was put on a 1099 with no taxes withheld so that was fun during tax time. Overall felt like a company that was only attempting to look “cool” and modern but was simply playing dress-up as an functional company.

Advice to Management

Should probably wait to hire staff until they are actually needed, pay people on time, provide ANY sort of leadership and direction to employees

How is the office food at Docler Media?

Pros

They cater food sometimes to employees

Cons

After the interview process, I was called to work for two weeks for "probation period" at the CA location. I was ecstatic. After the first day of working there, I realized that almost everyone there is Hungarian and they all spoke that language in the office. It is not a big deal to me, until I got interviewed by a Hungarian chick, who barely spoke English, was wearing a red bra with a white shirt that has holes in it and ripped jeans, explaining to me that I need to dress professional for the job. Mind you, I was wearing a suit and looked professional. Next, she tells me that part of my job is to "fetch to her needs". She asked me to find her a hair salon to schedule her appointment, and asked me to contact other vendors to book her personal services. I was confused. I have an MBA and I thought I was applying for a PM job. Than the next part of my job is to interview a movie director. I sat with her and another Hungarian chick to interview the director. They were shocked that I actually came prepared and I knew what to ask and how to handle the interview. The same chick asked me to go get her ice tea in front of the director! She sent it to me by text as we were all sitting next to each other! I was shocked at how unprofessional she is and how she keeps treating me like I was her servant. After the interview, I went and served her ice tea-where she has decided to excuse herself with her friend, and they left to the back of the room talking about me in their language. Needless to say, I didn’t get the job after that day because I didn’t serve the needs of that Hungarian girl. I was extremely disappointed about the whole experience. I could’ve been an asset to their company-except, they were looking for a female candidate to serve the needs of that Hungarian employee. They don’t want an educated person who is a professional in the field. They want someone with no opinion who can serve them food. It is degrading and insulting to think that I have wasted my time working for this lady’s hair, nail, and food needs and that they actually based the whole interview on that! Wow.

Advice to Management

Let people know in advance that the PM job they are applying for is actually being tested by how fast you can serve tea to the female employees there-don't waste our time, our talent, and our degree in the future.
