What is the retirement plan like at Freshworks?

Pros

I have only been at Freshworks for a couple of months now, and was onboarded during the Coronavirus and still working from home, so I'm sure I won't have all of the Pros. However, the main one that sticks out is the fact that they truly care about their people. With Covid-19 seemingly ruining every business out there Freshworks continues to honor the offers that they had out to people already. To my knowledge no one has been laid-off or furloughed because of this. No one has been forced to take a pay cut, other than our C levels who said that they have done so voluntarily. To top it off, they have adjusted the targets in the Sales roles to make sure that the Sales roles don't lose out on commission and, in fact, trying to make it so that every one can hit 100% commission during this time. I started at Freshworks the day the quarantine went into effect and was quite nervous that I could be furloughed or laid off. However, each week in our All Hands meetings I get more and more reassurance that my job is safe and that the company is in a great position. All in all, I couldn't be happier to be where I'm at and what Freshworks has provided me with during my short time here and am looking forward to a very long and successful career here!

Cons

It's really hard to say that there would be any cons, outside of the obvious Covid situation, as my experience so far has been incredible. The only one I can honestly think of is the lack of 401k matching.

Advice to Management

Keep it up. You've hired some really great talent and have a very promising outlook for our Denver office. Everyone seems really willing and driven to be successful here.

The only one I can honestly think of is the lack of 401k matching.

What is paid time off like at Freshworks?

Pros

Company is scaling very rapidly. There are tons of product innovations and a big push to hire as many people as possible. Company is ready to go IPO soon.

Cons

The Glassdoor rating is inflated with reviews from the Chennai office. Do your research, this is a company that is really HQ'ed out of Chennai and great if you are out of that office! The US office is far from what a tech company should be in the US or in the Bay area. Employees only get 10 days of PTO and 3 sick days. The company gives you a hard time for dipping into negative PTO and taking more sick days than what is given. You are expected to be in the office 9-5 and will be scolded for coming late or leaving early. There are a lot of favoritism and politics within leadership as some of the managers do not have any management experiences and senior reps get special treatments. Pay is below market rate. No HR and Operation teams in the US office.

Advice to Management

Value your customers AND employees.

The company gives you a hard time for dipping into negative PTO and taking more sick days than what is given.
