How was the interview at Freshworks?

Pros

- You will get free food

Cons

I will only talk about the product management vertical - Earlier they used to get good PMs. All those good people have left because the leadership has stopped focussing on hiring and retaining good PMs. - The quality of current Heads in PM is abysmal. They don't understand what product management is, don't have clear product vision or strategy. Most of them did not start off in product management and never went through the interview process for PM. Most they can do is project management. And these heads made random people who were good sycophants as their subordinate PMs. - There's no learning from your peers because of points mentioned above.

Advice to Management

- Pay attention to who you are making a product head. - Have better PM hiring strategy - Understand that product management, unlike project management, is not all about processes. - You can't retain good people just by providing food. Good people will leave when growth opportunities die, be it moving up the ladder or learning from your peers. Only mediocres will stay.

Most of them did not start off in product management and never went through the interview process for PM.
