How is management perceived at GEICO?

Pros

Starting pay is good (around 50-52k a year). Some supervisors and coworkers are nice and the company tries to keep morale high for the regular shift adjusters. Always hiring.

Cons

Your numbers are all that matter. It doesn't matter if you leave with over 100 things to do and need to ask your teammates or supervisors on help for everything if you're numbers look good you'll get promoted, but if you're self sufficient get your work done but your numbers dont look the best be prepared to be passed up on promotions and get little raise but expect to still have to pick up teammates slack. Claims will routinely get transferred from an adjustor that leaves to a new one if a little more work is needed and if a bad survey comes in that is 100% directed at the previous adjustor you will get the hit. Some of the expectations are ridiculous with numbers. For the new 2019 numbers is you get 2 call markdowns out of 72 calls you can no longer be rated a 5/5. If you get 1 call mark down a month only you will be below standards. They emphasize having business classes done yet most supervisors and even a manager hasn't even completed the whole 8 classes they want you to have yet you will get lectured on how it makes business sense to do something but when you actually listen to what they say unless they themselves have completed the business classes or have there BBA or MBA in some cases almost 100% say is completely incorrect. If you're not a normal shift employee your moral does not matter and you will not be included in next to anything. There are about 2 events each week that the normal shift does that you will never get to experience and you will also get left out of reports that can show performance.

Advice to Management

Realize that numbers aren't everything. If you have an adjustor leave with over 100 things on their diary they are not a top quartile adjuster they're trash. Change how surveys work if an adjustor gets a survey directed at the previous adjustor dont penalize the new one. Please also have even supervisors complete all busineeses classes prior to become a supervisor...its annoying to have to help out or explain statistics or basic math to someone should already have that knowledge.
