What is paid time off like at Gallagher?

Pros

Interesting and fun work, lots to learn. Supportive team and great manager!

Cons

No raises. No promotions. No benefits. No opportunity whatsoever for advancement. Six months of contract work and no time off other than for unpaid holidays and weekends.

Advice to Management

Please consider a track for assisting contract employees to transition to FT jobs with AJG. I believe that your organization will benefit from this effort as contract folks will come on board already trained and enthusiastic. Right now you are training contract folks and then doing nothing to retain us when our contract ends. I am now applying for work with your competitors.

Six months of contract work and no time off other than for unpaid holidays and weekends.

Does Gallagher offer relocation assistance?

Pros

Top down culture of teamwork, management cares about employees, they take the Gallagher Way Tenents seriously, promotes from within, great work recognized and they reward employees, historically raises are good and consistent, great place to work, assistants are trained to become account managers, they work to retain great employees and develop careers, hybrid remote and in office. Great benefits package including ample sick time. Backup when out of office. Monthly one on one check ins with your manager. No micromanaging. Clear procedures. Lots of training. High Technology. Lots of opportunity to mentor. LGBTQ and Diversity/Inclusion is not just lip service. Stable company. No place is perfect, however this agency is pretty close.

Cons

Working with the service center in India is a challenge, many mistakes and communication with them as English as second language presents issues as well as time difference, can't speak to them by phone. Technology overload with more than half a dozen systems is catch 22. Certificates issued by service center cause a lot of extra work and could have already issued yourself by the time you provide instructions.

Advice to Management

Streamline and simplify technology. It would work better if all certificates could be issued locally.

Great benefits package including ample sick time.

Does Gallagher offer family leave?

Pros

The people are genuinely nice There's a variety of clients, but many are smaller organisations which you can build a strong working relationship with Good pension and maternity leave

Cons

The pay is far below benchmark (14-20% below benchmark for my particular role) Bonuses are almost exclusively for sales people Too much is spent on vanity benefits when it should go towards boosting people's salaries Management talk the right talk but the hierarchy is such that change happens veeeeery slow, if at all When they recruit new people in, they recruit at the top, so people at the bottom get very little chance to progress

Advice to Management

Recognise the hard work people are putting in - pay them a decent salary and promote them when they're performing above what's required for their role

Good pension and maternity leave
