Pros

A lot of the lower level staff and management are genuinely nice people. Most senior leadership mean well. Great for parents who want to send their kids to Gannon and use tuition remission. Or get a degree themselves Beautiful campus Students are valued here Women in leadership positions Health benefits are awesome, week off at Christmas and easter break even with the not so great vacation amount

Cons

It's like high school all over again. The level of personal politics actually prevents progress from being made and stunts collaboration. If you're in the wrong department with the wrong supervisor, it can make your life miserable. Everyone is in each other's business (but maybe that's just Erie). The pay is very low even for Erie. Almost unheard of to get raises. Lots of weekend work depending on your department. Very hard to get moved into a higher role since they rarely open So much snow

Advice to Management

Hire people with the long-term in mind. Give people a reason to stay and somewhere to grow. Be much more transparent Weed out or counsel the people causing drama.

Pros

Excellent benefits, nice facilities, overall a good place to work.

Cons

Some of the leadership are not to be trusted. Many questionable decisions. Even if you think you are doing a good job, and get good job ratings, they can make you feel uncomfortable and lacking job security - unless of course, you are a tenured professor.

Advice to Management

Quit playing games with leaders, staff, and non-tenured faculty. Your actions give people a reason not to trust you.
