What is the feeling of job security at Gartner?

Pros

Good work-life balance - flexible schedules, wellness rooms, remote working Excellent PTO- start at 20 days work up to 35 days plus federal holidays Great health benefits and perks - Cigna, commuter benefits, incentifit, gym

Cons

Mediocre pay No job security - organization is constantly "restructuring", value shareholders over employees, jobs are cut with little notice Lack of transparency Lack of diversity and inclusion support

Advice to Management

Gartner complains about their high turn over rate, but fails to provide adequate job security. All the benefits and perks are nice, but if employees are worried about losing their jobs, they will continue to look elsewhere and leave.

How are senior leaders perceived at Gartner?

Pros

Great work culture, the people make everything, and mean everything to me. Truly have enjoyed working with everyone here. Extremely smart, yet humble and super collaborative. I can speak specifically on the product organization - I can say all the folks on my team are my friends, and rarely does one get to say that. Work-wise also it's extremely stimulating to help problem-solve some of our organization's biggest and most critical challenges. We often work on strategic initiatives that directly link to the CEO and his team. So that gives us great exposure to senior leadership, and also helps in our development in terms of understanding the approach/mindset of the CEO and his leadership. Been fortunate to have had the opportunity to present before the CEO and his team several times. The first one being into my first few weeks in the company! Lastly, we work super hard but also have a ton of fun as a team! This is a very social, fun team to be in. Truly is.

Cons

Growing pains, we have now almost doubled our size, so that brings its own set of challenges especially on prioritization. Work-life balance can be difficult to manage at certain points especially if you have a lot going on. But the positive is that if you enjoy what you do, then it doesn't take as much of a toll.

Advice to Management

It's a great team - keep doing what you're doing. Hire the right people and build the same culture that I have been fortunate to experience. While we are a feedback-driven culture there's room to improve giving upward feedback at times. Be a little flexible to differing ideas --> sometimes the same solution can not be applied to everything.

So that gives us great exposure to senior leadership, and also helps in our development in terms of understanding the approach/mindset of the CEO and his leadership.

How is diversity at Gartner?

Pros

Review is specific to Research roles...Good benefits (great PTO!); good locations; flexible work arrangement (though this varies depending on your manager/division); smart, collaborative colleagues; strong, high-quality research; daily access to successful, executive-level clients.

Cons

The cultural differences between heritage Gartner and heritage CEB are problematic. The approach to research is quite different across the two organizations, the research deliverables/products are different, the management approach is different, they way you develop and get promoted is different, and the overall employment value proposition is different. Reconciling these differences effectively doesn't seem likely. The demographic differences across the two organizations is particularly problematic. The older, whiter, more male composition of the Gartner workforce and the younger, more diverse composition of the CEB workforce has caused some challenges, and the overall commitment to diversity and inclusion is poor.

Advice to Management

The secretive, hierarchical management approach makes it harder for all of us to perform our jobs effectively. We're adults - we can handle news we might not like.

How is management perceived at Gartner?

Pros

Pay Come on time and the location of office.

Cons

New Management is all bout monitoring and micromanaging people, I have seen new hired senior person questioning about lunchtime and breaks. Newly Hired Senior management are misusing their power to pull resources in the company that are already worked with them and showing favouritism, they are clueless about how the product works, They are only interested who is working from home and how they can catch him to blame for something, people are leaving the company because of this culture my friend also left the company.this is demotivating for hard worker in the room because they feel people hired by senior staff always get appreciation irrespective of the knowledge and delivery. being clueless about the product they are questioning the delivery and setting up the wrong delivery dates to business and then start the micromanagement in day to day life when it can be delivered.

Advice to Management

I would advice HR/CEO to look in the this ASAP else this company will be like other Service company
