What is working from home like at Giant Eagle?

Pros

This is a fantastic family owned organization. With that said leadership is heavy and changes direction on a whim.

Cons

Low paying salary compared to other head quartered companies. The culture is militant, working from home or flexible arrangements varies by division. Not consistent.

What do employees say about the location of the Giant Eagle office?

Pros

Good salary, friendly team members

Cons

Travel time, they move us team leaders to much and it's never close to home. You can go from having a great store that you helped to create to garbage in a week and all your effort to maintain your previous store feels like a waste. You start o er get another where it needs to be and boom moved again, Expectations can be overwhelming with not enough team members to actually get the job done right but doesn't matter you just have to get it done. Sacrifice your family and your time doesn't matter to them.

Advice to Management

Stop moving leaders around all the time and try to keep them closer to home. Stop expecting miracles and move your expectations closer to reality.
