What are perks and other benefits like at Glowbar?

Pros

Great co-workers and free skincare treats! Decent pay

Cons

Considered a start up so benefits aren't great, little agency over dress code, scheduling, and pretty much always short staffed. No accommodations for health concerns

Does Glowbar offer dental insurance?

Pros

-great coworkers(the ones who are still there) -hourly pay (although not great) -dental insurance

Cons

-they WILL lie to you, tell you you’re full time then give you 25 hours then try to play semantics and day they consider full time less than 30 hours which is deceitful - they will expect you to take a day off of work, without pay and go to NYC for the day as if everyone could afford that -training was rushed and awful -manager was clueless had zero experience in the beauty industry so was unaware that she needed to investigate customer complaints - the manager was not a licensed customer esthetician and would try to sell products to customers with zero knowledge of product ingredients which was obvious to customers and humiliating for employees -COVID regulations were not followed as manager still showed up after we asked her not too (when her family was home sick) repeatedly exposing employees and clients

Advice to Management

- find a manager with experience in the beauty industry specifically. Hospitality experience is not enough. Knowledge of skincare, skin reactions and product ingredients is very important. In this industry people will often be dishonest to get a discount. Ignorance or this fact cost the company a lot of money because clients were refunded with no investigation which is ridiculous in this industry
