How is management perceived at Hayneedle?

Pros

Flex-time off if you don’t mind being unpaid

Cons

Management can not be trusted, too much office politics. The company needs to be investigated by the BBB, they pick and choose which customers can get their money back, replacements, etc instead of applying all the policies and procedures CONSISTENTLY to everyone. If you stand up to management for anything, they will fire you. They lie and say it’s an open door policy, when in reality, they will fire you if you express any type of concern. Quite frankly, if you try to to reach out to the employee ethics department, it’s a joke because you’re now having to go through Wal-Mart, which is too big of a corporation. I would recommend working for a company that has not been acquired, that way you are dealing SPECIFICALLY with that company. If you like playing games with managers and observing that others who play those games get promoted and get treated differently because of favoritism, this job is for you.. I went to HR on a supervisor and then I was retaliated against. They say you can stream on your phone between calls, and literally an email popped up and that SAME manager I went to HR about, said I was streaming while having an email contact up. The email literally had just popped up on my screen. Mind you, this happened the day before I was going to start my vacation., subsequently I was fired. To be honest, I may sue, but luckily I have other ways of making money, so I probably won’t waste my time. But it was the WORSE company I have ever worked for. VERY UNETHICAL. You have been warned. I do not recommend this company at all. The benefits are horrible. Also they don’t have security in the building. After the wrongful termination happened, they almost didn’t give me my belongings which INCLUDED my keys. If they would not have given those back to me, it would have been an automatic lawsuit. But that company engages in unethical business practices, so they’ll either be FULLY taken over by Walmart or just shut down completely if they are investigated. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if a class-action lawsuit happened soon here, ESPECIALLY how they did the people who were laid off. You have been warned, don’t work here. I have a college degree and had to correct my manager SEVERAL times on procedures she said I was doing wrong, when in fact I was right. And also regarding the pay, it sucks. The pay should be at $16.00/hr because of all the workload.

Advice to Management

Someone come in and investigate the practices of these poor, unqualified managers. No diversity at all. Grow up. You’re adults who act like children. You shouldn’t be in management, and you will see this, in the near future. Because what goes around, comes around. You treat employees like that, you will reap what you sow.
