What is working from home like at Helen of Troy?

Pros

Nice remote work from home job, & Employee meetings & involvement during holidays, good resources while on calls remotely

Cons

Learning how to troubleshoot products without physically training with them due to being remote deemed challenging, & some inappropriate instances of microagressions during "teams meeting" towards people of diversity but they seem to be trying to work on that aspect of inclusion for all.

How is the work/life balance at Helen of Troy?

Pros

Good benefits and competitive salary.

Cons

-Product quality is not valued enough. It seems like the company philosophy is the cheaper, the better, as long as a profit is made. -The company runs very lean on personnel (sometimes with absolutely no succession plan), and they're more than willing to pile more work on you than you can handle, so it's difficult to maintain a healthy work / life balance. -Furthermore, you won't receive any recognition, promotion, or even a "thank you" for completing the work piled upon you. However, if anything slips on a program schedule, you will more than likely get the "what have you done for me lately" routine. -Some groups / departments are favored by executive management for promotions, awards, and recognition, while other groups / departments are not very highly valued at all. - The "Power of One" company culture is preached by the executive management team, and expected to be adhered to by all employees, but it is not practiced by the executive management team. This has created a "do as I say, don't do as I do" atmosphere. It has also created a culture in which one group / department is able to try to paint another group / department in a bad light or blame them for schedule delays. -The company does not care about you as a person. This attitude carries over to the majority of the employees, who take no time to get to know you as a person, and don't seem to care to get to know you as a person.

Advice to Management

Kudos to our Mississippi team for its volunteer work with Heartland Hands Food Pantry this summer. Since June, Helen of Troy associates from Olive Branch, Southaven, and Horn Lake locations have spent every Tuesday and Thursday pitching in at Heartland Hands. The team packs and loads boxes of food for those in need throughout DeSoto County, MS. In July, the team accumulated over 200 volunteer hours. 💪 It looks like they've enjoyed every minute of their time at Heartland Hands.😀 Great job team!
