What is paid time off like at Highmark Health?

Pros

Start with 4 weeks of PTO, $5k yearly tuition reimbursement, endless opportunities for new training and skill development. Well known and established company.

Cons

Management can be out of touch. They ask for feedback but do not always act accordingly. Siloed teams that can be reluctant to help each other. Frequent reorganizations and being "asked" to wear multiple hats, aka work 2+ jobs for the price of one. Medical benefits are not as good as you would expect considering it is the company's product.

Advice to Management

Instead of only suggesting methods to manage stress, listen to individual contributors and take action to resolve the root cause of burnout.

Does Highmark Health offer relocation assistance?

Pros

Good overall employee benefit package

Cons

Unrealistic expectations and Management targets and sets people up for failure - Upper Management ignores the employees.

Advice to Management

When a manager starts with 20 on their team and is down to 6 in less than 6 months there is a problem Not related to the employees - you need to listen before you lose good people.

Does Highmark Health offer life insurance?

Pros

Stable job. Lots of work. Good Health Insurance.Work life balance is good.

Cons

You are working with a lot of people in India. They don't have access to a lot of information that is needed to do their job so then it is falling on people in the USA to get them the information they need to do their job. Also there is lots of not being able to join meetings because of internet issues in India, or power outages, etc. Also there is only certain times they are able to meet for their work in the AM and if they can't join then a person in USA has to cover for them. India get their holidays and US holidays off work this also impact work and you having to cover for people in India.

Advice to Management

Hiring people in the USA or get the people in India the access needed to actually do their job. Holidays need to be the same for India and USA. Not fair to Employees for people to have off their holidays and USA holidays. Give everyone everything or pick holidays that everyone is off.

Good Health Insurance.Work life balance is good.
