C level Management is lost. Created a toxic environment were only their favorites advance. There is a separation between the worker bees and the queen and her court. In some cases so bad they force good educated loyal employees out just because they can.

Advice to Management

Stop acting holier than thou. You bleed the same blood as everyone else. Start appreciating the real treasure you have. your employees before its too late. Promote people because they earned it not because they are your friends.

Pros

Great people that care deeply about what they do and are happy to share their expertise with you. Campus is really beautiful and offers many amenities, including subsidized housing for employees. Benefits are awesome! If you are a scientist this is probably one of the best places in the world to work.

Cons

Pay can be low for entry-level positions. If you are in that predicament it makes it almost impossible to live, unless you accept the subsidized on-campus housing.

Advice to Management

Bigger bonuses would be great for us poor entry-level folks.

Pros

HHMI takes care of its own. They offer the most competitive retirement plan with a 10% fully vested contribution to their 403b plan, excellent PTO and STO offerings, and a very healthy culture of excellence in science.

Cons

Being a non-profit, there are opportunities to make more money with other institutions.
