How was the interview at IgniteTech?

Pros

Very competitive pay. Very competent peers once you get to the interview process and on boarding. They are serious about seeking the top 1% of the candidate pool and in drawing from across the entire globe of talent, that means they need to sift through a lot of applications and data to let the top talent rise to the top. That can be VERY confronting for most applicants who are used to being in the top echelons of the hiring pool. If being measured and evaluated against other applicants or your colleagues is confronting, IgniteTech and the entire ESW enterprise will either challenge you to grow inside that environment or you will self-select from the hiring pool. The enterprise is not shy about giving feedback about where performance is not up to standard and where that performance compares to colleagues in similar roles. In that regard, they are super transparent once you get on-boarded/hired. The hiring process, while very confronting and challenging for most, is a GREAT example of what it will be like once you are hired to the team. Not often noted in the reviews is that if the hiring process does not deter you, once hired, your performance is measured and assessed on a 10-minute basis. If you are used to getting distracted and having 15-30 minute blocks of time be unfocused or unproductive at your current role, this position will stretch you as you are not paid if you are not productive towards moving the needle in your performance. You will know you are good fit if you are open to being stretched and challenged AND you understand you would rather work 40 intense hours instead of 60+ with the same results. That is what it was like for me as I began my initial orientation and on-boarding. If after reading this, you feel you are not up to that kind of performance then you probably are not a good fit for the culture and the company. If however, that challenge calls to you and you are someone who seeks to grow and expand your abilities to new heights, continue on in the hiring process. It is worth it at the end. Finally, if you can make it here, you will THRIVE anywhere else. Maybe you should consider this company as a way of evaluating your own ambitions and fortitude. Get in, make a difference and a contribution to this organization and anywhere else you might go in your career afterward will look like a cake-walk. My personal encouragement to you is to take the challenge and keep fighting. If you are worth it and if your family is worth it, keep going. I personally had to apply for 6 positions, take 15 different assessments, and had over 11 interviews before I finally was hired. The pay is exactly as advertised and no gimmicks.

Cons

Very time consuming application process. As noted in so many other reviews, there are a lot of assessments to jump through. The company is very “process-oriented” and can appear in-human in some of the ways they sort through candidates. The company has some very ambitious goals and that can be discouraging at times. They really push the human spirit to overcome challenges and to grow to new levels. They do not want team members who are easily discouraged. You MUST have grit to work here as you will get pushed HARD.

What are co-workers like at IgniteTech?

Pros

1) Geographical independence This is very important to me. I appreciated it especially when a war broke out where live. This job gave me sense of security, since I was able to move my family to safety and still be employed. 2) Equal treatment and pay grade no matter where you come from. I have many friends who work remotely but are paid the fraction of what other colleagues of theirs make, simply because their country was designated as "low pay" by the companies they work for. Well not at IgniteTech, in here you are paid based n you merit and not your place of birth, and you are paid pretty well at that. 3) Meritocracy with possibility to make a career. I will not sugarcoat it, IgniteTech is a very challenging and demanding place to work. We have a culture of change here, and many are not able to cope with change being the only true constant. However if you have what it takes, if you are ready to work hard, if constantly changing environment does not scare you, then you can build a career here. I have been promoted multiple times at IgniteTech, so I know first hand that it is possible. 4) Really amazing, intelligent, and hard working team There is always much to learn from the people you work with. They come from everywhere, they are intelligent and friendly. Every colleague I deal with is always happy to extend a helping hand. I can truly say that many of them have become my friends. So working with such a group of people makes work easy and friendly.

Cons

No paid time off, which makes you think twice for every vacation.
