How are career development opportunities at Imperva?

Pros

Imperva is made up of an amazing group of employees. Hardworking, friendly and most importantly proud of the company they have built. There is so much opportunity here to do amazing and challenging work that it will set you up nicely for amazing growth in your overall career. Our CEO, Chris Hylen, has received a lot of negative feedback here. I think people have painted him far more negatively than required. He is an amazing and passionate leader that cares deeply about the business (especially employees). He will take the company to new heights that no one has imagined.

Cons

To take the company to new heights we need make changes or else we will become stale. Change is hard and we are working through it. But there is a lot of potential ahead and the future is bright.

Advice to Management

Keep at it. Don't give up. the future is ours to take.

What kind of career opportunities exist at Imperva?

Pros

World leader in full-stack security solutions; Fine cutting edge security technology; some very good people working here; fast-paced opportunity to be of service to all class of corporate, private and government customers. Well rounded.

Cons

Easy to get lost in the mix; Even for a high-performer accustomed to reaching out and staying in touch, it's really tough to be heard or make any difference; some management seems asleep at the switch; an awful lot of the best talent has left in the ensuing management shuffles these last few years; silo mentality abounds even in what can sometimes be a well inter-connected opportunity to be a terrific security vendor.

Advice to Management

You're on track to have a fantastic company with a great future ahead of it. But be sure to pay attention to the lifeblood of your company: its people. They're not just worker bots to ignore. They are the link to keeping your customers happy. Invest more in exit interviews to find out why so many people are unhappy and leaving. There is likely a goldmine there to discover, if you can figure out its secrets and how to turn it around!!

connected opportunity to be a terrific security vendor.

Why do Imperva employees quit?

Pros

Imperva used to be a good company before new management

Cons

After the aquisition, Imperva doesn't seem like before. Many good people left the company and it looks like leaders and manager didn't care to retain them. In regards the support team, everything changed after the new director of support took over and a new manager came;they change the culture. Most of the support engineers for Imperva for both products left the company this years in HQ because of the changes. Manager looks like he micromanage people . Because most of us left, you see many support engineer positions open in the career page even though it is a small team. There was no career growth in my team also.

Advice to Management

Seems that the "culture" all the leaders embrace and talk about is just words;at least for the customer support team in HQ.

How do employees feel about their professional development opportunities at Imperva?

Pros

Company and products are good. Good for you to learn about security, firewalls, waf and related technologies. It's self-learning if you take initiative.

Cons

*Echo of previous 1 star review* -Management does not listen/care for employees. You are on your own, just doing your job. Nothing is done to help the engineers work less stressful or more manageable (not even technical but also administrative point of view). -No proper training fore new hire but training on the job. -Career progression is zero if you have different opinion with your boss. -Micromanagement even though the workload is already high. -Management is self-centered and do things for their own interests. -Some individuals have bad work ethics that would do anything to climb the ladder. -The churn rate of engineer is the highest that i have seen in all my companies. They have not stopped hiring just to replace engineers that leave less than a year or months. All the good people left.

Advice to Management

Advice to VP: We need a team player to manage the team.
