What is the salary like at Imperva?

Pros

Where to start!? The company definitely values its employees and truly works hard to treat them right. They go above and beyond, salary is great, teams as inclusive/welcoming and the company is really just a “breath of fresh air!”

Cons

I don’t have any. Truthfully!

Advice to Management

Keep being human and humble. 10/10

What are other benefits and incentives like at Imperva?

Pros

Good products covering a wide array of needs in cyber security, both data and application security products are considered market leaders

Cons

Compensation and employee retention has been dipping rapidly, high performing sales people are leaving as the payment scheme changed so much for the worse that the same level of performance is compensated at a 40% lower rate, other companies in the space often offer strong incentives to leave. We are losing good people and not filling the positions but tacking the responsibilities to some of the CEO staff. Customer success and retention isn’t a focus although spoken of as a matter of importance

Advice to Management

Get a seasoned sales oriented CEO, strengthen core functions needed for retention and HR, people want to work here but it has to be competitive

Does Imperva offer stock options or a stock purchase plan?

Pros

Great award-winning technology, leading the fight against cybercriminals. Used to have great stock benefits, taken away (understandably) with the move private. Global company (though I don’t mean laying everyone off and moving the jobs to Belfast for the tax breaks or eliminating and cutting business roles in Israel)

Cons

No stability, especially in business roles. This is true both for people who were at Imperva for years but also people who were brought on by the CEO. Yearly layoffs. Frequent reorganizations. Taking business roles out of Israel and back-office roles out of California. Values shouldn’t just be a t-shirt but a way the entire company – including management - behaves as if they don’t apply to them. As someone else wrote on Glassdoor (this was also my experience): “They laid off people that loved Imperva, that lived and breathed the mission, vision and goals” while people who didn’t live by the goals stayed. Dishonest CEO – told the company he was not putting the company for sale, then later admits that most of his time has been on selling the company. Creates values, but then lays off and disparages those who built Imperva, as well as those he brought on. While he made 15 million dollars selling Imperva to Thoma Bravo, his employees are forced to collect unemployment instead of building the company. Dishonest management is posting fake reviews on Glassdoor just shows that they cover up problems and shut down honest critique (to make things even better) instead of improving.

Advice to Management

Watch out for the next layoff, take your money - you’ve shown you’re not committed to the employees.

What are sales commissions like at Imperva?

Pros

Great solutions. Solve real-world problems. We are determined to be the best in the industry. You really can succeed here.

Cons

Thoma Bravo has changed the landscape and caused cost-cutting measurements. Additional changes because of Thoma Bravo are still on the horizon. The biggest issue is the radical changes to commission plans. If you are in Sales, expect to make less money than you did before.

Advice to Management

Fix commissions. Not getting quota attainment or full commissions on 3-year deals is the dumbest thing I have ever heard off. You want the company to reach new levels but then don't want to reward employees for the more significant deals that would get you there.

The biggest issue is the radical changes to commission plans.

Does Imperva offer bonus pay?

Pros

Salary and bonus are brilliant . Ability to traveling worldwide. Ability to work from Home.

Cons

Management isn’t good. Unability for career growth.
