What kind of career opportunities exist at Infinum?

Pros

I think the Best employer award of 2020 (in the category of big companies!) talks for itself, this is the top company with great benefits and I wouldn't want to work anywhere else. Great opportunities for education, great teams of people, and one key feature: You are getting rewarded for something you enjoy doing.

Cons

There aren't any cons currently.

Does Infinum have any sort of mentoring program?

Pros

Infinum is the first company I joined as a (junior) engineer after finishing their academy and getting a job offer. It's a very friendly atmosphere and they care a lot about their employee's well-being, as well as having a good mentorship system in place to help you progress your knowledge and skills. The biggest pros are the people and the general environment, but I've also been happy with the compensation and the variety of projects I've been put on. Infinum grew a lot over the past few years and even though you can see some parts of it getting a bit "corporate", it still retains the warmth it always had.

Cons

It can sometimes take too long for them to recognize that you deserve a bigger raise, especially if you started low, so you have to speak up and be confident that the work you're doing is worth more than you're currently getting. As the company grows quite quickly, it's also getting more difficult to feel like you're making a real impact on the company level, and the often arbitrary "personal OKRs" that you get aren't much of a motivator. If you get to a lead position, you get some stocks, but they're useless as you can't do anything with them (can't sell to anyone, forced to give it up when you leave, and the company doesn't have plans for IPO or getting acquired).

Advice to Management

Management is overall doing an excellent job, and that's why Infinum keeps winning the "employer of the year" award. My observation is that entry and mid-level people are generally the happiest, but the higher you go, the higher the percentage of less happy people, even if that percentage is still low compared to the rest of the industry.
