How are career development opportunities at Johnson Controls?

Pros

Colleagues in the Belfast office are nice, on-site canteen, reasonably interesting work, free tea/bean-to-cup-coffee, good out-of-town location for parking, good travel opportunities (in support), reasonable office facilities.

Cons

Canteen food terrible, coffee best avoided, poor location for local amenities, corporate IT policy renders computers un-usable for development work. Business struggling (before Covid), culture of no communication (even in a crisis), colleagues let go without any acknowledgement or communication at all, social activities discouraged, blatant favouritism, backward management attitudes, culture of covering up issues and lies, no career progression (for non-favourites).

Advice to Management

Local management: communicate, listen, be fair, trust your staff - or lose your business.
