What is the salary like at Jones Knowles Ritchie?

Pros

- Great creative and some inspiring design directors. - Brands and clients are interesting and varied. - Grad scheme throughout business attracts really bright, young talent and there's always new, enthusiastic people about.

Cons

- Long work hours, bit of a culture of everyone having to stay at their desks. - Account management teams always the first in and last out on a daily basis. - Poor pay compared to other agencies, a lot of their staff are hired in grad schemes, they probably aren't aware of their value in other agencies as they have never been anywhere other than jkr. - Career acceleration only dependant on who your manager is and if they are interested in dealing with this side of things. - So many meetings no time to do the actual work or spend time with clients. - Lots of bureaucracy and very process driven within the design process. Everything fits their 5 stage process, if you try and go outside this its like you're talking a different language.

What are other benefits and incentives like at Jones Knowles Ritchie?

Pros

- Great access to creative opportunities; jkr is definitely having their moment in the sun - A select few people are phenomenal; truly inspiring to work with - Great, iconic brands that everyone has an equal opportunity to work on (regardless of position) - Socials are really fun; a time for the team to unwind and really bond - Benefits are good; 20 days off + paid health insurance and an additional HSA card

Cons

- Only a few people left from the original award-winning teams - Global HR is by far, incredibly inexperienced and unethical - Compensation is not in line with market rates and there’s a huge disparity between those who rise up through the company and those who are brought on - Pressure and expectations don’t allow for the best work; they give you just enough support to get by - Physical office space is cramped - another review referenced a sweatshop and that's what it feels like; however, I know this is something that’s being addressed

Advice to Management

- Reevaluate Global HR. Poor reputation, inappropriate personal relationships, lack of trustworthiness, and inexperience doesn’t set the agency up for growth and long-term employment. Employees don't feel safe under their guidance. - Pay employees what they’re worth; promote from within - Don’t lose that passion and fire that fuels the great creativity that the company was built on; that’s ultimately why people join to begin with
