How is management perceived at Jones Knowles Ritchie?

Pros

- Award winning work, but only if you are lucky enough to get any time dedicated to you by the elusive award winning "global" ECD. - Generally, really driven and devoted colleagues but with the occasional negative/passive aggressive one thrown in for good measure. - They attract great talent, its just a shame they don't know how to keep them. - Great name to have on your CV if you can ignore all of the negativity which ultimately makes it a toxic environment to work in.

Cons

- The culture has become one of putting awards over people. - Too much smoke and mirrors from senior management resulting in lack of trust throughout the whole team. - Dedicated and loyal members of staff are treated with no respect. - You'll fit in if your ego is bigger than your head. - Internal communication is appalling. - Wages lower than industry standard. - They claim to provide an environment where all opinions can be expressed equally and with confidence, but unfortunately, this is not the case, as there are only a hand full of opinions that are actually listened to. - Annual reviews are a shambles, as your feedback isn't followed through with any support in order for you to actually achieve your goals. - Complete lack of understanding of what work/life balance means to staff an who it effects their mental health. - Lack of respect for local employees, with Western staff being favoured.

Advice to Management

- Get HR that understand the local nuances of each studio because what works in London won't automatically work in other parts of the world. - Start being honest with your staff because no-one appreciates being lied to continually.

Too much smoke and mirrors from senior management resulting in lack of trust throughout the whole team.

Is Jones Knowles Ritchie a good company to work for?

Pros

JKR is a fantastic place to work for anyone who is driven and motivated, loves great creative and does not care about dogmatic rules or principles. Great work is the focus, while the environment is supportive and allows individual passions and great ideas to shine. Progress is the only constant and change is welcome - which means the teams are encouraged to try new things, sometimes fail but often find new and exciting ways of doing even better work. The creative is inspiring, even within the company walls - as well as outside. People are supportive to one another, and the genuine care of the business for their employees can be felt. There is room for own initiatives and taking on cross-departmental projects to build your ideas and create something new. It's a pleasure to work with so many talented people and I go to work here with a big smile on my face!

Cons

If you like structure and regularity, this might not be the place for you. If you are the kind of person who asks them self how things can be improved, it might be! The office is bustling and can perhaps feel busy at times - although in my opinion sharing the office space with young startups is completely worth that!

Advice to Management

Keep empowering your talent. As the business grows, put in place the right frameworks to keep the entrepreneurial spirit and flexibility high!

Great work is the focus, while the environment is supportive and allows individual passions and great ideas to shine.
