Pros

Great colleagues and culture, office is nice, many nationalities, motivating job tasks, company is growing a lot (good vibe in the company), many career opportunities, social activities outside work. Very good benefits as well!

Cons

Senior management is pretty young, which sometimes can cause immature decisions.

Pros

Good place to gain a lot of expertise in many areas very quickly. You have the possibility to move around and increase job responsibilities. Great colleagues as well as they have a high bar for new employees.

Cons

Low focus on retention. It feels like the upper management has a strategy to pump people for all they are worth for 2-3 years, promote very few and let the others become so frustrated they find jobs elsewhere. Not a great place for career growth for 90% of the employees. There has also been too little focus on promoting the right type of people to management positions. There are two main ways to become a manager: make your own team or be the best at the focal area of your team when your manager moves on. Both of these mean that the decision will be based on task based skillset, not leadership or management ability. Meaning, there are many inexperienced and uninterested managers at the company. There is not even a focus on training the managers on local employment laws, and if there is, it is not sticking.

Advice to Management

Shift some (just 5% would be fine) of those funds that are being flagged for expansion initiatives back to retention and employee development. Irregulars career paths are fine in theory, but in reality, people need to feel that going above and beyond their job description is rewarded - and so many of us are. Promote more: Klarna is a high growth company with plenty of funding. You only take in the best, you should promote and pay based on that thinking.

Great colleagues as well as they have a high bar for new employees.

Pros

Klarna is ambitious to the core, and that is what brings us all together as colleagues. We all come from different backgrounds, working in cross-functional and cross-seniority teams, which brings diversity and great ideas. You get big responsibilities at Klarna from the beginning; it is very few other employers that offer so big autonomy and responsibility to their staff. Honestly, I have fun every day, both because my team is great, but also my tasks. It is an amazing feeling being early in your career and getting the trust to drive your own work. Yes it is fast paced and high stakes at times, but there is a lot of heart and drive that really creates a developing environment. There is also a lot of opportunities to grow within the company, people from my team hav e changed department (we call them competences), go to be leads, do focused projects.

Cons

If you are a person that need a rulebook and just want to do work and then not identify with it, perhaps you won't enjoy Klarna. it i too fast paced for some, and some people don't respond well to the lack of hierarchy structure Klarna's organisational model is built on.

Honestly, I have fun every day, both because my team is great, but also my tasks.
