Klarna FAQ

There are a lot of great people working at Klarna and there are many opportunities to advance or change path within the company. They also arrange a lot of events, guest speekers etc. that are really interesting.

The management is not working, at least in the lower levels. Most managers/team leaders are quite inexperienced as managers, they get close to no leadership training and there is a culture of micromanaging. From what I have seen many team leaders seem to point fingers and blame their team whenever something goes wrong, rather that owning up to it themselves and taking actions - something very different from normal Swedish work culture. My team leader treated people in postions below her terribly, really a bully rather than a manager. That said, there are good managers there too, but until the company culture changes and they start valuing good leadership I would advice people who value competent leaders to think twice before joining.

Look over how you educate your managers and team leader and what kind of culture you are promoting.

I am always receiving appreciation gifts in the mail, which really makes me feel special! The gifts help me feel connected to my work place, even though many are WFH. I love the amazing benefits that come with working at Klarna, and the fair pay. This is the best company I have ever worked for! I am treated like a real human being at Klarna, not a number. Klarna makes me feel motivated to do my best work possible!

Global time difference can sometimes be hard to handle. There is nothing Klarna as a company can do about the time difference between countries, but this is something to keep in mind when considering a position at a global company that works closely between countries.

Always be open to listen to those on your team. Cultivate a friendly team environment, full of positive energy, and you will succeed.
