Pros
Great modern workspace with scope to work in many areas of the business. The idea of work hard play hard is promoted but rarely possible and is used as a sales gimmick.
Cons
Very negative management, managing director who would rather waste time with petty arguments than actually let qualified engineers get on with work. Micro management, stale people who have worked there too long and think they know better than everyone else

Pros
A great community of staff across different engineering disciplines, admin, accounts, etc. Gym, climbing wall, etc. and attached social groups. Plenty of likeminded people. Events like summer BBQ, robot fighting and bonfire night aren't overdone and awkward like your usual 'why would I spend my Saturday with work people?' Staff expected to take responsibility for themselves and work to their own strengths. Lots of opportunities and people tend to find what they like or what they're good at and do more of that.
Cons
A lot of 'finding your own feet' to be done which can feel like being thrown in at the deep end, but there is support if you ask the right people. Ultimately I think this helps to weed out the less-motivated and those who would struggle with the self-management required by the job. Many positive changes coming as the business grows that unavoidably come with teething problems and issues in transition.

Pros
Tidy and modern workplace Pool table climbing wall and squash court Microwaves Nice coffee Sandwich van Nice organised nut and bolt wall Gym and showers Yearly staff party Access to tools at weekends and after hours Many experienced people that can help with work
Cons
Bipolar managing director that cant trust his employees and would rather stress about a dusty shelf rather than the real issues with his company MD is unapprochable as never know what mood he may be in Constant micromanagement from HR Not many oppertunities for progression unless your face fits Poor pay and staff expected to work unpaid overtime and they justify this by offering "perks" such as a climbing wall Very stressful work enviroment with crazy deadlines for underfunded projects Insanly tight profit margins for one off robot builds No set break times No organisation Timesheet that the MD and HR go through with a fine tooth comb and discipline anyone with more than half an hour down to none project tasks Bizzare interview process (have to wire a plug) Strange internal structures Often a lack of work so can be a lot of standing around and waiting Most the reviews on here are from work experience and uni students and are encouraged by managment to leave a posative review
Advice to Management
Start trusting your employees more and stop micromanaging and everyone will be happier MD needs to sort himself out and stop havng tantrums when things arent exactly how he wants them.
