What are perks and other benefits like at MCI Investment Holdings?

Pros

CEI Fees (Claimable after completion of 1 year) New joiners attached to a buddy or Mentor Commission scheme not that bad A structure & career progression where you can get promoted and be able to lead a team Increment every 6 months (If you hit your target) Entitled to incentive trip ($300 - $3500) yearly, if you hit your target Entitled to Profit Sharing if you hit your target and other criteria Birthday Leaves & Festive Leaves If you are hitting your KPI or even higher, Seniors will not come and disturb you Work life balance if you know how to handle your time

Cons

Malaysian Fresh Graduates - Bonded 1 year with the company, failing to hit target or resign within 1 year, must pay 1 month salary A very realistic company - If you are able to hit your KPI, you are safe, if you are unable to hit for several months even with help, off you go. Seems like a big company with 100 staff but not very good management skills Manual Jobs - Counting of payroll for your temp staff, submitting of incentive slips using excels HR Team - HR does not stay long in this company, changed over and over again. Management Team likes to implement new rules as and when they like. Management Team gives us a very money minded feel, everything is about money Forfeiting of incentives when Client fails to pay up by 90 days of credit period. But eventually, when the Client pays on the 100th days, the sales and money will go into the company pocket. But even when the Client pays within 60 days, you will only be able to claim your incentive after the 3rd month (Good tactic of company holding on to your commission, so that when you resign, they will forfeit 2-3 months of your commission) REAL Bad handling of JSS - which results in MOM & IRAS complaints and Complaints from internal staff Profit Sharing every year will only be given 8-9 months after the FY ended Profit Sharing for FY 2019 not paid till date. Was told that it will be drag till next year Although there are promotions for your career progression, but think back, what is the difference between Senior Consultant and Consulting Manager (Both are still doing sales and both are able to lead a team) - No big significant difference and benefits

Advice to Management

A place where you can earn 4 - 8k per month but if you are looking at over 10k per month here, not easy. (Just think back, how many consultants are constantly earning over 10k per month?) Colleagues are all friendly and generally we do not have any politics here Advice to CEO - Take more time to understand your staff (be it direct under you or not) If not, to them you are just a Boss and not a leader. Advice to Management Understand that the company loves changes - which is good for the company But since the seniors are considered as the management level, i greatly appreciate that Management can discuss any new changes with the Seniors first, take in feedback before you all implement. But please do not have the mindset that, today you are informing us about the change and not discussing about whether this change should be implemented. (Many times, despite feedback, management will still not take advice and proceed with the new changes that they think will work) Trainings provided - Effective? Employees are a company's greatest asset - Situation that happens in foreign team will make us think that, in times of trouble, will company help us? When we help the company to earn money, company will be happy, but when pandemic strikes, foreign teams are forced to take unpaid leave and eventually leave. Did our company try their best to save these employees who helped the company to earn money in the past years, instead of letting them go? Sales incentive related - Please kindly look again into forfeiting of commisson. Sales personnel are here to work for their commission, but if they have spent a lot of time on this project but the client paid slightly later, is it fair to forfeit all their commissions (time and effort are spent)? Please re-consider All in all, these are all my personal views. As per the title, there are always Pros and Cons in every company, if you can take it then you will stay, but if you cannot take it, you are always free to go. A Company will not close down just because of you!

Does MCI Investment Holdings offer tuition reimbursement?

Pros

Amazing colleagues, genuine and sincere, growing stronger together. Though workplace can be sorta political at times, but strong bond among own team members, and if lucky, will have positive working relationship across different team as well. A challenging work scope, good to train yourself to act fast and think fast.

Cons

Management can be stupid and selfish, talk more than action. High turnover rate. Nevertheless, sales job by nature hence figures speak for one's performance. Sales staff with bond asked to leave and still need to pay for the bond. MC for more than 3 times in half year time will be invited for coffee session to "show concern on your health". MC to be submitted by 12pm as "concern" to ensure you have see doctor for your medication and MC benefit max cap $30, by reimbursement. No proper leaders, at most they can only be called as 'senior salesperson' with experiences. Wish you luck :)

Advice to Management

Don't talk so much when you can't do anything. Treat the staffs nicer and put trust in them. Else you could never go far. Your 5 years plan will be "never plan" :)

What is the retirement plan like at MCI Investment Holdings?

Pros

Location Helpful colleagues You earn what you slog for

Cons

1 Macro-Micromanagement This is new to me too, generally the top tries to be involved in everything to the point they burnt out 2 Hall of shame is considered a norm I’m talking about emails mass send to everyone ( close to 90 folks ) should any shaming be deemed required Management information of employees handled like a game 3 CEO a better salesman than a leader It’s a well disguised undercurrent issue if your leader isn’t leading but trying to sell 4 Chairman announces retirement, than returns to micromanage 5 Disorganisation at the next level There’s no organisation on par in terms of administration, foundational principals of business and operations with the level of disorganisation 6 Commission held back Seems like this has been brought up by many past reviews, which needs no introduction 7 Blame > Communicate This is consistent with the upper management 8 Praise to you ONLY if you are the money tree / bootlicker

Advice to Management

1 Chairman should retire, and retire fully. If need be sell the business 2 Change in CEO with good track records of leadership and organisational skills These two points would solve 99% of the existing negative reviews

4 Chairman announces retirement, than returns to micromanage
