What is the company culture at Marain?

Pros

- Interesting problems around a worthy mission: intellectually stimulating problems to make electric transpiration widespread - Great team: the people are inspiring and highly competent - Flat organization and minimal politics: there is very little hierarchy and politics. Great communication and everyone's opinion is valued. - Lots of flexibility: results are valued over input. As long as you deliver, you can work whenever/wherever is best for you.

Cons

- Long hours sometimes. Work/life balance is mostly good except when there is a looming deadline. In those cases, working for long hours and during the weekend is expected. - Changing priorities. As in any fast moving startup, priorities can change from one week to the next. This takes some getting used to.

Advice to Management

Keep Marain a great place to work!

Great communication and everyone's opinion is valued.

What are other benefits and incentives like at Marain?

Pros

The potential for impact is enormous, electric self-driving vehicles will become ubiquitous and Marain is playing a key role in shaping deployment strategy and operational optimization. The problem space is highly complex, making technology development very challenging and therefore very rewarding to see Marain products gain traction. The team is competent and motivated. They are tirelessly devoted to continuous improvement. The company is early-stage. We have an ambitious roadmap planned but there are still huge opportunities for new hires to influence the direction of the company and make ground-breaking contributions to the emerging self-driving industry.

Cons

Most of the typical pitfalls to joining a startup apply: compensation is competitive with other startups but lower than established tech giants, the company has to be highly responsive to customer needs which can short-circuit work on longer-term products, employees are often pushed outside their comfort zone.
