Does McGraw Hill provide leads to sales teams?

Pros

Legacy services and apps are slowly being killed off. Mostly friendly environment. Good tech stack for most teams.

Cons

They made the mistake of outsourcing some critical services and now they are stuck with maintaining and continuing that mess. There's a few very rude leads that will rip you for questioning them. Converting from contractor to FTE is nigh impossible.

Advice to Management

Move quicker in converting contractors, you're giving up good devs who want to work for the company.

How is the office food at McGraw Hill?

Pros

-People are awesome -Free food and drink -It's meaningful to work in education and you feel that there.

Cons

-Health insurance sucks -Work-Life balance is a joke. Being called to work on a night or weekend was a weekly occurrence. -Insane deadlines are given with no serious input allowed from the technical teams on timelines. -Mangement is almost all middle aged white men, with huge egos and a tendency to only listen to their own opinions -Almost no opportunities to move up and most career building opportunities are denied (conferences, additional training) -Pay was well below market value and request for raises can take close to a year.

Advice to Management

-Start listening to your employees. They're overworked and miserable. -Get your managers some training, or get new ones. The current ones are not advocating for their employees appropriately.

-Free food and drink
