What kind of career opportunities exist at MobileOne?

Pros

- If you're a team player, this company is for you - Huge opportunity to socialize with co-workers, customers, management etc. If you like to communicate this will be a good fit! - Large network, MobileOne has lots of connections and can be valuable if capitalized properly - Endless challenges (this could be a con to some?) - The opportunity to do things you've probably never done before! (EVERYDAY IS NEW) - Small discount on your phone bill & accessories

Cons

- Lots of dissatisfaction among the ranks of the company, many changes made and not enough transparency and or input from others - Expectations would rise, and our salaries took a plunge, the company needed to recoup their losses from bad investments and left us to figure it out. - Nepotism within management is very much inevitable. - Long hours, sometimes you wouldn't be able to leave until your store hits a certain amount in sales.

Advice to Management

All things considered I believe the Pros of working with MobileOne far outweigh the cons. They've taught me leadership, effective coaching, & so many other skils that will stay with me for the rest of my life. My only advice to management is this: Please take into consideration the opinions of all your managers and not just a select few. Also It's easy to get caught up in T-Mobile's result driven goals, just don't force it down our throats by making us stay any longer than we have to. Some people work more efficiently on their own schedule, not yours. The more power you take away from the people, the less driven they become. Empower your people. There were definitely some rough waters with the company at some point and its unfortunate but I would still recommend this company for anyone looking for something that's unpredictable!

How are promotions handled at MobileOne?

Pros

Making friends with co workers and pay is decent if you hit your goals. But most of the time the sales associates or the assistant manager makes more money than you as a store manager.

Cons

Long hours, they cut your budget hours so you and one other person are working. They discipline us if we don’t clock out for lunch but there is no time to take lunch with myself and another employee working. Some days the managers have to work 12 hours a day. They keep changing the pay every 2 months, very unstable to make a living. Micro manage to the max, they often threaten us that the Corporate office is watching us with their 12+ Flat screen TVs on all the cameras to ensure everyone is keeping busy. A few people have gotten fired for leaning on a desk to take a rest after a rush. They constantly promise people promotions and never happens. A lot of harassment from upper management. Some are racist, I should have reported it but they will find someway to fire you. Don’t expect a life outside of work. A lot of turnovers, they hire recruiters and let her go in a few months. Not cause she did something wrong but because they don’t need that position. A lot of back and forth, unorganized. Overall, they sell you the dream so be careful what you believe.

Advice to Management

Stop trying to sell your employees like you care about them. Always selling the dream. Always only about making profits. Hire more people, stop being cheap!

They constantly promise people promotions and never happens.

What is the feeling of job security at MobileOne?

Pros

Fun work environment if your fellow reps are good people

Cons

What a sorry excuse of a professional business. Constant pressure for little pay, no respect for employees work, inconsistency, no job security, fraudulent behavior. This company is truly a sales company that makes you question your morals and ethics as management encourages fraud. They cut reps hours after producing good results while claiming that sales gives more hours. Favoritism within the management is rampant; be family or friends with upper management and you're golden. If not, good luck. The current owner is driven by a massive ego that preaches a "work/life balance" while simultaneously berating his managers and creating an uncomfortable and negative workplace setting. He, along with all higher management are often seen flashing off his nice things while the reps make minimum wage and feel immense pressure at an entry-level position. There is one training session, and after that you are let loose into a sales environment with no real guidance, then are subject to harassment and ridicule on slower sales days. On busy days where they are making that nice good $$$, they front a happy face and promise you nice things, but when that $$$ stops coming in, its back to the same thing. An overall negative and toxic workplace and I advise ALL looking for sales/wireless positions to STAY AWAY. It is not worth it. All of the previous, competent upper management quit in the past year or so because of the culture of the business, and it is only getting worse. For those already in it, ignore all the false promises and BS they are handing out, and get out ASAP. For those looking to apply, please reconsider for your sake. New hires find out quickly what this company is about. No PTO, HR Department is a joke that provides no voice for employee discomfort, terrible health insurance plan as well.

Advice to Management

Go back to the ways that you guys used to be. Respect your co-workers and INVEST in the reps. Provide real benefits and match the amount of work demanded with adequate pay. There should be no reason that managers are making less than sales reps. There is potential for this company to do well again but only with a change in the culture. ASMs/Managers work 6 days a week constantly and are forced into daily "Hype Calls" even if they are off the clock/off for the day, are harassed and watched by the cameras, and are ridiculed and put down for mistakes, rather than encouraged to fix those mistakes. Be more professional and you will see less turnover. By the way, the CEO of the company is NOT Mike Gormley anymore, as he peaced out of here too! :) He was actually great!

Constant pressure for little pay, no respect for employees work, inconsistency, no job security, fraudulent behavior.
