How is management perceived at Morrison Healthcare?
Relevant Glassdoor Reviews
January 12, 2023
Pros
Pays in title but not salary for positions, provides contract-management level benefits but not industry standard, offers continuing education but few promotions
Cons
Didn't offer any COVID relief or benefit for managers who worked during the pandemic, capped raises during the pandemic, raises do not keep pace with regional cost of living or inflation, eliminated PTO accruals as a cost saving measure because managers were unable to take time off during the pandemic
Advice to Management
Conduct regional pay reviews for underpaid managers and staff, offer PTO cash out instead of eliminating it to save money, bring back salary-based benefit credits for Millennials and Gen Z like previous managers currently receive.

Pros
good meal plan, free shoes, fair pay, but not great. Everyone received a 4% raise, because of inflation and employees were leaving. Nice doctors at Mayo Clinic. Job looks good on resume.
Cons
benefits start after 90 days, PTO accrual rate very slow, must use PTO before leaving, company will not pay out. that's illegal. Vacation is denied frequently, work long hours, poor management, poor leadership, lazy managers, all employees getting sick, high turn around, always training new employees, cooks worked overtime, nepotism among management, employees were hung over. NO WORK LIFE BALANCE! work 8-14 days straight. many days worked 9 hours straight without a break or lunch. that's illegal. no appreciation. employee's health is failing, but management doesn't care. Everyone is replaceable, nobody cares. Requires all vaccine shots or penalized on paycheck. always need to check paycheck for correct hours. time clock always broken. HR department never around when needed. No support.
Advice to Management
hire managers with experience and education being a manager, not a cashier or "friend" that is promoted due to nepotism. Need leadership education across the board. Require college degrees for managers. Appreciate your employees for their hard work. Get out of your office and get to know your employees. Participate with the work load. Hold Human Resources accountable for lack of paper work, poor administration. Management is afraid to follow procedures because they can't afford to lose employees, No standards. Follow handbook policies. If the management don't like an employee they forced them to quit. Employee mental illness reported frequently due to working conditions. Toxic environment. Bullying and boarder-line sexual harassment but never reported. Often laughed off, told "you're over reacting". Told "let it go, just do your job." Management works good employees to their breaking point. Good employees quit. I hope the CEO is reading this, please use these comments to improve the environment. I hate working here. I am looking for a new job.

Pros
Lots of hours, good pay,
Cons
Management is there 25/8 but quite literally don’t do ANYTHING. They also don’t believe in having a good work life balance, and they coddle the employees there, make them supervisors and all when they virtually do nothing there as well.

TONS of Data Entry which makes it extremely hard to manage department. Lack of training on all of the numerous (and duplicate) sites and applications. Minimal support. Lots of turnover by management Salary isn't the greatest. They typically lowball.
Advice to Management
Be careful. Huge red flag on how many Directors come and go which no one seems to notice or address as an issue. They had had lost 7 Directors in 3 different accounts in less than 3 years.

Pros
Schedule that leaves time for any life interests/hobbies. Open everyday, so there is job stability. Always opportunities for overtime. The management tries to promote from within the team before resourcing out for an open supervisor and above.,
Cons
Communication between management and associates can vastly improve
Advice to Management
Management above departments heads should visit the teams at their locations more often. The team sees and talks with their manager daily, so an unfamiliar face appreciating the work they are doing can be refreshing
