What is paid time off like at National Air Cargo?

Pros

Great group of front line employees...the best! Free 747 or now A330 Type Rating (we call it the Chris Alf Type Rating Scholarship Fund) Average UHC insurance better than Obama Care Two weeks vacation

Cons

Worst, inept management in the entire industry!!! Low fixed pay for HQ employees working the job of three people with low pay. No raises/bonuses! Crew schedulers who waste an infinite amount of money and make up for it by commuting crews in last minute bought commercial middle seats for hours and occasional cheap hotels with black mold in the rooms. The Good dispatchers leave for better airlines so you end up flagging everything to keep yourself from violation... 30 hour duty days on an 18/12 schedule where you’ll end half way across the earth so you’ll have to fly into your off days and miss your kids’ graduation or your friends’ wedding. You end up doing their accounting on a company Amex card. Late to pay it off and upon leaving the co YOU get stuck paying the final bill. One colleague had to sue for 1500$ they stuck him with. They hold you responsible for THEIR late fees. Owner dips into the co funds to support his financial bills for his private jet, etc. He doesn’t care about any employees and a couple of times, paychecks were “late.” Huge attrition up to 60% in Inflight and the Flight Dept. Co doesn’t think they have a problem with that because it’s “cheaper to train pilots than retain them.” Seriously? Planes aging and incidences of parts falling off etc.; serious enough to make the news and aviation articles. I could go on but you get the clue!!!

Advice to Management

They don’t take advice. They think they know everything...and they do...ABOUT NOTHING!

Two weeks vacation

What are co-workers like at National Air Cargo?

Pros

Good group of coworkers and junior to mid-level managment

Cons

Ownership tends to manage the company erratically... everything is a knee jerk reaction, over reaction and to the extreme. Ownership tends to micro-manage the operation, believing he is the only one that can make a good decision... that he is smartest person in the room.

Advice to Management

Trust your managers, directors and VP's run the airline. You should focus on long term corporate strategy, selling the company and playing more golf.

What is the salary like at National Air Cargo?

Pros

There is somewhat consistent pay.

Cons

Management and training staff incompetent and vindictive. No respect for pilots or flight attendants. No rhyme or reason to schedule. (What schedule?) dont plan on having a life. Work many flights in pitch darkness. Horrid uniforms.

Advice to Management

Throw out training staff. Hire from outside to replace. Stick to flying corporate workers and ball teams. Get new jets!!! Unsafe planes!!!
