Does Newell Brands offer dental insurance?

Pros

- My immediate team members are some of the best people I have ever worked with - Newell does strive to hire top talent, so you're surrounded by very knowledgeable people who are willing to help you learn - Very well known brands - Associates/Assistants are given meaningful work - You get to see the fruits of your labor in major retailers across the country - Good 401K match, time off

Cons

- FYI that vaccination will be required 3/1/22 with no testing alternative. The very short notice given to employees (2 months) is reflective of many leadership decisions - Work-life balance is VERY bad. The days are filled with meetings that constantly add to your to-do list, but then you have no time to work on the tasks given. I frequently work late nights/early mornings/weekends to get work done. I have worked/been contacted while on PTO as well - Literally everything is urgent - Positions sit open for a while adding to the loyal employee's workloads - Recently hired talent has been questionable. Seems like other companies with higher pay might be getting the the better employees given the hot job market - ZERO onboarding. They throw you in the fire and see how you do - Very high turnover due to little upward mobility and low pay - CEO lacks insight on what his employees want and has outdated views on remote work. Constantly makes baseless claims about "what is best for employees and our workforce" without ever having sought opinions - Poor medical coverage options, high premiums

Does Newell Brands offer family leave?

Pros

*Great employee discounts on Newell Brands products *Company has a creative culture and is generally open to new ideas *Early release on Fridays is offered in the summer *Leadership makes a point of being seen and interacting with employees

Cons

*Limited upward mobility without clear career pathways *Salaries are not market competitive *Leadership is overly involved in basic decision making *Vacation and health care offerings are not great, paternity leave is very short compared to other companies *Outdated thinking on return to office with firm requirements about going to the office multiple days a week even though many leaders live out of state *Employee experiences are very inconsistent and there is isn’t a universal experience as a Newell employee *Change is constant and there’s very little continuity or succession planning *Turnover is high and many roles are not being backfilled or are being downgraded

Advice to Management

*Reward the people who are sticking around during a high period of change *Create systems for better upward mobility *Reassess benefits and salary levels against market and industry competitors *Hold leaders accountable and intervene in situations of high turnover (conduct 360 interviews on leaders, hold stay interviews, etc.)

Vacation and health care offerings are not great, paternity leave is very short compared to other companies
