What is health insurance like at OSF HealthCare?

Pros

Great health insurance benefits, paid time off and people in my clinic!

Cons

Upper management does not communicate or take feedback from those working in clinics. They roll out new ideas but have no policy or plan in place. Lower pay for experience of staff! I just got my first N95 and we are 8 months into the pandemic!! Even if we don’t see a ton of positive patients in the actual clinic, this is unacceptable to me!

Advice to Management

LISTEN to the staff in the clinics! Show appreciation to them! I know my coworkers and I feel very under appreciated by upper management!

Does OSF HealthCare offer tuition reimbursement?

Pros

I loved working in the OSF HIMS department because we were able to flex our schedules at least one day per week, and we also earned passes that allowed us to work whatever schedule we wanted for an entire week. OSF has a very good benefits program, including tuition reimbursement. My Supervisor had open communication and always accepted suggestions via the suggestion box or during our monthly meetings, and we had a great employee activities committee that planned potlucks, games, etc.

Cons

I wish there were better parking conditions at the Pioneer Park location on Hale Avenue, but other than that, not many cons!

What is paid time off like at OSF HealthCare?

Pros

Good 401k, decent PTO, competitive pay.

Cons

OSF Healtcare does not care about their employees. During this Covid-19 pandemic, our department has been flexing us, and we are only working about half of our FTE status. The right thing to do would be to offer the employees furlough pay! Most healthcare employers are offering furlough pay during this time. NOT OSF, they are telling us we either have to take our PTO, or take our time unpaid. They preach that they are all about the "mission partner," but when it comes time to step up to the plate, they leave us to fend for ourselves. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for employment.

Advice to Management

It would be nice if management had the employees backs. They side with the doctors on everything. They do not value our opinions. I've been told by management "Whatever the doctor says, goes," in other words, we don't care what you think, just do your job.

Good 401k, decent PTO, competitive pay.
