Does PROS offer unlimited time off?

Pros

The culture at PROS is people focused. People are always willing to help, hang out and support one another. PROS is one of the more diverse tech companies, has good benefits, unlimited PTO and a nice work from home policy. PROS finally hired a real CPO and she is excellent!! Most of the people here are pretty young <40 and super friendly. Most of the recent reviews come from the 120+ new people that were hired in recent months. Depending on your project, you get to travel to cool places and are challenged to solve complex problems in the B2B/travel space.

Cons

PROS advertises itself as 'dynamic AI platform powering commerce in the digital economy'. The tech stack that powers PROS is expensive, outdated, sinking, and takes waaayyyy too long to implement. Currently the B2B side, is the growth engine as travel side is stable and not many new travel subscriptions. Sales teams is unorganized and tends to oversell and that leads the implementation team scrambling trying to meet the expectations the sales team committed to a customer. PROS product UI/UX is stuck in the early 2000s and needs a major upgrade. PROS is being slaughtered by a B2B pricing tech start up that has no intention of slowing down and is poaching current customers. There are employees/teams who go above and beyond but are not recognized for their efforts (No Presidents Club, NO Promotions, NO Award or NO Quarterly bonus) and this can be demoralizing and devaluing. Some of the directors/managers have been at PROS soo long that they are all 'buddy-buddy', ineffective and do not add value to the department or company. Continue to practice due diligence in hiring, there is a guy who has displayed unwelcome s3xual advances to young women in the office. Take sexual harassment complaints seriously. Please, hire competent project managers who know how to listen, lead, and manage the needs of multiple stakeholders. Too many lackluster PMs, who expect their project team and ICs to do their work for them.

Advice to Management

B2B organization has the ability to catapult your business in to the new decade. Hire competent managers, take on a start up mentality, and listen to your customers! Do not pivot your product based on competitors, pivot based on the market and customer feedback! Stop releasing product features no customer wants and asks for. The vision of PROS is great but PROS falls short on the execution. PROS does have a lot of things that make it great but if management refuses to take action; the fall of PROS will have will be even greater. Make implementations shorter and streamline the sales processes. Stop sending out those pointless HR pulse surveys.. Conduct small town halls within each department and provide private channels so that employees can provide unbiased honest feedback. Award employees who 'outperform'. No athlete/team likes to go to the Superbowl/World Cup and win - and not be able to celebrate. Award your employees and stop playing favorites! Hire a true COO+CTO and build out a competent design and product team for your B2B product!!

What is the retirement plan like at PROS?

Pros

Free snacks, free drinks, free extra lunch from meetings all the time, quarterly company sponsored happy hour, company sponsored team outing, PROS will also move into a brand new office space this year. Lots of diversity groups that are constantly involved in the community. Work with tons of smart people that support each other who are positive and encouraging 401k match, generous PTO maternity leave, sick time, Employee company stock purchase at a discount, laptops and flexible work life balance CEO is genuinely a good person who personally helped pick up employees who were stranded during Harvey!

Cons

Politics and uneven workload distribution in certain groups. HR could see some improvements, for example when we changed HSA provider employees have to submit the paperwork themselves when this can easily be done automatically through HR on a more mature system.

Advice to Management

For the most part, keep doing what you are doing!

What is paid time off like at PROS?

Pros

Many of our annual, recurring events were started because an employee had an idea. Oktoberfest, The Big Event, #HashtagLunchbag, Dia de los Muertos, National Coming Out Day, PROS Talks (and many, many more) - all started and are still run by employees. PROS provides an environment that supports employees celebrating with other employees. Also, the kid-friendly nature of the company is really remarkable. Have a weird school holiday? No problem! Set your kid up with some quiet tasks and we'll provide the snacks! I'm not a parent, so I can only imagine how helpful that would be.

Cons

It can be difficult to describe what PROS does. At a broad level you can say "we make pricing software," but that is so vague that it doesn't give any credit to the many intelligent and innovative people that help build what we sell.

Advice to Management

None at this time.
