What is paid time off like at Parallel?

Pros

Employee discount, unlimited PTO, 100% remote, good people working here-always friendly

Cons

Huge lack of communication, never know what is really going on with the business, leadership blowing smoke/hiding the fact that the company is barely staying alive and has teams in place to figure out a way for the investors to get out without losing their hides (anyone with an advanced degree would recognize this happening), brought in amazingly smart people with excellent track record of "corporate exit strategies" being clue number one. Do your homework people. If you are still there it is because they need worker bees to keep things going while they find the exits. Save yourself. This industry is difficult to survive in with the administration/legislation we have in place.

Advice to Management

Maybe support the remaining workers better, and clue them into the facts more. Make a deal with them to get them to help unwind the business rather than trick them into thinking it's going to survive and overwork them until you surprise them with oops you're out, nothing we could do.

Does Parallel offer malpractice insurance?

Pros

Employees get 75% off on product - max retail value for part timers is $200 & $400 for full time employees (resets each month).

Cons

Mediocre insurance (if you're lucky enough to get full time), High turnover rate, raises average 3% per year, instead of promoting from within for manager roles Parallel tends to hire unqualified managers off the street (most of which get fired or quit).

Advice to Management

If you want to keep good employees who have years of institutional knowledge you need to give more people full time, better insurance, and better pay. It is demoralizing to hear on meeting after meeting how profitable the company is when everyone below the management level is struggling to pay their bills. To quote a retail guide, "I've got full-time bills and a part-time paycheck."
