How is management perceived at Peck Brothers Roofing?


- Great benefits - Committed individuals (some, not all) - Teamwork for field workers - Events - Modern, updated, clean offices


- Lack of skilled managers - Poor performers get rewarded because they need skilled workers - Absent senior leadership, except when an issue lands on their desk, then that's when they care

Advice to Management

- Best place to work is a great title, but senior leadership needs to be engaged in creating an environment where employees feel valued. Benefits and events are great, but being talked down to regularly is no way to grow an organization. - Develop your managers. They are too busy putting out fires to every really devote time to actually advising and growing their people. - New titles are created weekly to promote people who don't necessarily deserve to make more than others. It just creates more and more layers of protection for senior leadership and more people to blame when financial goals aren't met. - When something goes wrong, it's a "you" problem, not an "us" problem. Senior leadership is free of all blame when there is an issue. - Offer flexible scheduling to all employees - it's unfair to have my hours monitored very closely, but only senior leadership can enjoy the benefits of working from home. - Felt like the company was finally finding its way with some new processes and procedures, but then it just went back to the old way again. Why change if you aren't going to implement the change long-term?
