What are perks and other benefits like at Penske Media?
Pros
A growing media company...a rarity these days. Some iconic brands. Great coworkers and teammates - made the long hours and High-five meetings a lot more bearable. It was great for the first year after acquisition - we were the shiny new toy. The honeymoon faded after that year.
Cons
Completely disorganized structure. Each brand seems to operate in a complete silo - I never knew what the other brands were up to even if we worked on the same floor. "Corporate" is rarely in person in NY - they seem like the almighty Oz. Never to be seen but all powerful. The company tells us about how profitable PMC is during town halls...yet benefits are marginal at best. We just got 401k matching and it's a paltry 1%. A company who espouses the importance of independent journalism...and then takes money from Saudi Arabia. HR. Is their only role to play bowling and Halloween parties? Maybe a process for employee reviews would be better use of time?

What is health insurance like at Penske Media?
Pros
The work is fun. Employeed through COVID-19, company paid for all COVID related expenses (testing etc).
Cons
-401K matching is poor. -Health insurance isn't great. -Salaries are well below what they should be. -Zero room for growth, don't expect a raise without threatening to leave. -IT department takes 10 years to answer a ticket, and has massive blocks on the apps you're allowed to use. -HR has no idea how they employees actually feel about the 'positive changes they're making' -Editor in Chief of Variety was brought back after PAID administrative leave for negative talk to a person of color, staff was asked to move on. -I would go as far as calling the company sexist, they boast female empowerment on a C-Suite level, but little support underneath. -Upper management has no real connection with the entry/mid-level staff -Depending on which departments you enter, it's super cliquey and incredibly difficult to meet people. -Zero organization in the org chart, everyone does everything and titles mean nothing.

What is paid time off like at Penske Media?
Pros
Company's response through COVID-19 issues has been really good. They have given us a lot of communication, implemented work from home notices and suspended PTO tracking so that we don't have to worry about not getting paid if we can't work because we are sick or have to take care of kids home from school. They really try to take care of their employees.
Cons
None. It's times like these that make us appreciate how PMC treats their employees.
Advice to Management
Keep it up.
