Pros

A growing media company...a rarity these days. Some iconic brands. Great coworkers and teammates - made the long hours and High-five meetings a lot more bearable. It was great for the first year after acquisition - we were the shiny new toy. The honeymoon faded after that year.

Cons

Completely disorganized structure. Each brand seems to operate in a complete silo - I never knew what the other brands were up to even if we worked on the same floor. "Corporate" is rarely in person in NY - they seem like the almighty Oz. Never to be seen but all powerful. The company tells us about how profitable PMC is during town halls...yet benefits are marginal at best. We just got 401k matching and it's a paltry 1%. A company who espouses the importance of independent journalism...and then takes money from Saudi Arabia. HR. Is their only role to play bowling and Halloween parties? Maybe a process for employee reviews would be better use of time?

Pros

The people at PMC are what make it special. In my role I interfaced with different people from around the company each day and so I got a good idea of the people at the brands and also corporate. It's a company where the most senior people treat you with respect no matter what role your in and there's a feeling like everyone's work matters. It was also exciteing to be part of a company that is growing all the time. We would add new businesses but also HR would come out with new perks and opportunities. You could tell they were always putting effort into our benefits and also bringing in great speakers on different topics during the year. During Covid the company was amazing with zero layoffs no matter your job and regular communications really helped.

Cons

It's a busy company and not everyone enjoys that kind of pace. It's a growing company some perks were not offered that people wanted but I do feel like management and HR listened to those requests.

Advice to Management

Continue to listen to all employees for ideas as you grow.

Pros

The Product, Engineering, Project team is one that really cares about each other as people and helps each other grow. There is a structured career ladder, so you know what is expected of you at your current role and what you need to be doing to get to the next level. There is a never-ending supply of work to be done, which leads to tough decisions needing to be made, but the team rallies to make those decisions and support each other to ensure we are successful.

Cons

The LA office seems to be the favored son. The people in that office get +1s for the Halloween party, in-office massages, and they removed the half-day for NYE which is really hard with the NYC office being close to Times Square. Remote employee benefits are minimal.

Advice to Management

All the benefits of being in the LA office should be available for the other offices or for remote employees.

Remote employee benefits are minimal.

Pros

If you want to work at the #1 media and entertainment company then PMC is it. CEO Jay Penske cares about his employees and provides one of the best environments I have ever worked at - from benefits to overall pay. Top management cares and works just as hard as I do.

Cons

We need more good people!

Pros

The CEO really cares about the welfare of his employees. Pay and benefits are decent. I've never worked for a company that makes me feel as safe and protected like PMC, especially during COVID. Their honesty is refreshing. Holiday/PTO time has increased since the beginning of my work tenure. Diversity is a growing and nurtured part of how PMC does business. Matching 401k. Good to great co-workers! Fun office environment, but working from home has also been a blessing during these times.

Cons

I am not sure if there is a gender wage gap like some reviews have said - if true, that needs to be rectified. Management needs to work on showing appreciation for and helping their staff (see below advice to management).

Advice to Management

Staff should be able to review their managers, not just the other way around. We should be able to provide feedback directly to upper management without fear of repercussion, if our immediate manager is not performing well. Minor things are prioritized while larger questions can go unanswered for months.

Pay and benefits are decent.
