How are senior leaders perceived at Penske Media?

Pros

PMC is where I learned collaboration at all levels and was the first time I was put into direct communication with c-suite executives who really cared what I had to say. The leadership was smart and always creative with what we were doing with the business and also open to my recommendations in a way that can be hard to find at other companies. There were multiples ways to expand and grow myself while there. I've recommended it as a solid place to work to colleagues in my field.

Cons

Acquisitions could cause workloads to increase overnight. The business grew a lot while I was there and from what I understand is still growing. It's exciting but can be a lot of work to manage.

Advice to Management

As you grow, dont forget the impact collaboration at all levels can have for the business and employees.

What are some insights into the strategy or vision at Penske Media?

Pros

I always tell people that PMC functions like a cool startup, but in all the best ways: there's a family feeling here despite being such a large company, and all of the employees are encouraged to get to know each other, no matter what brand you're with. The leaders here have always encouraged me to try out new ideas (without penalizing me if things go south) and I've felt supported in asking for more opportunities and responsibilities as I grew in my career. Penske was also one of the few media companies that actually HIRED more people during the pandemic (rather than laying off staff), which was an encouraging sign for all of us here.

Cons

We've moved in a solid direction in terms of diversity but I encourage management to continue making diverse hires so we can truly represent our readers and followers
