Does Pharmaca offer unlimited time off?

Pros

I've worked a lot of retail. I graduated from naturopathic school one year ago, and before that I've pretty much only done retail. The Boulder, CO Pharmaca, in the Ideal Market shopping center, has gone above and beyond any retail job I've had. They express constant appreciation to all their employees and create a really enjoyable work environment. They know retail can be tedious, so they make it all the better with offering generous breaks, occasional free snacks or drinks from the store, and even once bought us all food from Ideal Market next door. I've only worked there 1.5 months but I'm sure they do things like that more often. Oh, you also get a membership to Expert Voice, which is a discount site for everything from camping gear to supplements. As a new doc, I've been learning a ton about supplement options, more than I would in private practice. I accepted a job in a clinic and felt so bad telling them I'm leaving. They're short staffed because of the nature of the country in the midst of the pandemic. The managers work so hard covering shifts for everyone, they really honor your requests for time off to enjoy life and only ask you cover when you can. If you're considering working here, please do, they need good employees (that will stick around longer than I am!) and they are a great place to work. I can't speak for other locations, only 2700 Broadway.

Cons

Low pay for a practitioner, and it's retail, nothing glamorous about it.

Advice to Management

YOU ROCK. Keep on being awesome!

Does Pharmaca offer housing assistance?

Pros

It's a paycheck. Free food and when slow hour lunches.

Cons

Can't show initiative without being questioned why or told no. If you aren't trained don't try. Management demands respect but shows very little to employees. Management is overwhelmed and rush you if you have a question about something. Extremely low moral and no drive to do better. No constant hours.

Advice to Management

Listen to employees more. Have or mention an open door policy.
