What is paid time off like at Pinterest?

Pros

Everyone I've worked with at Pinterest is very respectful, even senior management. They actually SUPPORT marketing efforts (read: staff and budget adequately) which is rare in many engineering-forward companies. They treat contractors very similar to employees, including us in many of the fun, culture days. Work life balance is the best I've seen in tech.

Cons

The contracting company isn't that great. Benefits are terrible, only 5 PTO days a year, and 0 sick days. The Pro support team is inadequate. BUT, if you can stick it out until the end of your contract, there a good chance you can get hired in, and Pinterest benefits are great!

Advice to Management

Keep resourcing I&D efforts. Keep hiring more women and BIPOC directors and above because it's really making a difference. Change the contracting company that manages contractors.

The same load of crap you get from all of the tech/social big wigs… they claim salary transparency, diversity, women’s rights, yada yada but underneath the cover they don’t practice any of what they preach. Disappointing.

Advice to Management
