What is paid time off like at Postmates Fleet?

Pros

Postmates is a luxury I feel like. First of all, they have a super easy application process for newcomers. As long as you have valid driver's license, clean background check, smart phone and a vehicle, even if you a motorcycle/ scooter ( you might want to have side bags). You can be a Postmates. I have been subcontracting remolding jobs for over 15 years now, but anyone knows being a contractor can have it's ups and downs. Meaning time off due to the weather and or waiting on materials in some cases. I love the Postmates platform because all I have to do is pick up my smart phone and turn on the Postmates app nomatter what part of town I'm on, the App will pick up your location and show you were the most active areas are, rain or shine!! You can work as much as you like 😉. The best feature is that all the money you make$$ you can cash out for a small fee of 50 cent's. Say for instance you get paid at the end of the week or every two weeks, it's a way to pick up some extra cash inorder to make it to your next payday. If you don't cash out and want to stock pall some savings, Postmates will deposit all your earnings into your bank account once a week for you. Postmates even have tons of benefits to help you with your every day Life indevers. Postmates is a definite two thumbs up company. Thanks, FL-wsearl

Cons

The only thing that I can say about working for Postmates in this category is not knowing what your ratings are. Inwitch I understand the situation and I agree with your assessment. Another thing is not knowing your trips, but then again it's been like the lottery, I check my phone in the morning and it's nice to have $15 to $20 dollars to get the day started.

Advice to Management

I have problems sometimes after I accept the pick up, I can not tell where the drop off is located?? Maybe I'm just doing something wrong??

Does Postmates Fleet offer massages?

Pros

Work when you can or want to. Unlimited areas to market--you can Postmate during a vacation in other locations. Perks for merch

Cons

The negatives about being a Postmate are not really within Postmates' control. Some restaurants take a long time to prepare food. Navigation/GPS apps are not accurate, needlessly routing through parking lots and gated communities. Numbers on buildings and addresses are not clearly visible, especially at night. None of these are PMs fault--it just is. Ice cream orders?--I don't get it. . .

Advice to Management

Reward with PM t-shirt, drink carrier/holder after (X) number of orders in a designated time. Restaurants in my market prefer me to have visible PM gear. Good exposure for PM. Seen questionable attire on other PMs in my area. Thermal bag is too small for majority of orders-- need larger bag. Need bag for pizzas, too.

Does Postmates Fleet offer dental insurance?

Pros

1. Flexible schedule 2. Exercise 3. Easy to use software 4. They offer vision and dental insurance as a yearly subscription 5. Minimum social interaction

Cons

1. Very bad hard to reach anyone at Postmates to get help. 2. Live support on the deliveries could take hours, usually I am using help of the customer contacting them from their side which is unacceptable for delivery service from my point of view 3. Most of the times they calculate your time 2-3 times shorter than it actually was, so if you do not track it, which is impossible (I tried, but it makes deliveries too complicated and it is impossible to do at the bad weather) to do all the time, so at the end they steal from you 10-20$ every 100 deliveries. 4. Another way of "stealing" I noticed since Uber bought the Postmates service. The app creates your route with 2-3 deliveries, at the first glance it might seem a logic thing to have, but not when you have 1-2 orders on you and the app leads you to pick up the 2-3rd order passing-ignoring on your way near drop off points towards another pick up. When you do a single delivery you getting paid for the full milage, but when orders are combined your milage do not get combined and as far as I can see they use it to cut your pays.

Advice to Management

Stop stealing money from people who works for you.

Does Postmates Fleet offer malpractice insurance?

Pros

not many, instant payout, you go to popular restaurants often enough and they start to befriend you, you can keep food if customer doesn't show up

Cons

you're the one taking all the risks with driving through traffic, poorly packaged food that stains your car interior, looking for parking, getting parking tickets; if you get into an accident, fleet support won't help, neither will your insurance company; worked for them for 2 and a half years and they've only decreased their pay model about 5 times; you can't sue them; cancelling an order because it's a long wait or a long drive will decrease your order offer rate; bait-and-switch, dangling-a-carrot-in-front-of-your-face bonus quests; every day was a waiting game due to competition with other drivers and their tactics to give you few and long-distance orders and to prevent you from completing the bonuses so they can get away with paying you less
